00:00It's 6 a.m. The crew on board the Alexandra Shackleton are in the middle

00:06of a storm.

00:11Winds are over 50 knots and the waves are as high as five meters.

00:20This is the worst conditions we've experienced so far.

00:25The team has sailed 200 miles from Elephant Island and still has 600 miles

00:32to go to South Georgia.

00:36They're reliving Shackleton's nightmare. So small was our boat and so great were

00:42the seas that often our sail flapped idly in the calm between the crests of

00:47two waves. Then we would climb the next slope and catch the full fury of the

00:53gale, where the wool-like whiteness of the breaking water surged around us.
