00:00Congratulations on this, mate.
00:02We spoke about Renfield a couple of years ago,
00:05and I guess it's only movie serendipity when this happens.
00:08Any vampire movie.
00:10This could not have been a more different experience, I guess.
00:15Talk me through that Robert Eggers world,
00:17inhabiting it, because it looks very uncomfortable.
00:20It looks very cold, but it looks bloody entertaining.
00:24I mean, it's beautiful.
00:24The atmosphere that he creates is just all-encompassing.
00:28The sets that Craig, the production designer, built,
00:32and the world that Rob builds, it's
00:35so authentic in every way.
00:36And it's completely based on historical facts.
00:38So you feel like you are in Vicksburg in 1835.
00:43And he plays kind of imposing music on the set
00:46to create atmosphere as well.
00:48And all those elements just add up
00:49to making it easier as an actor to believe that it's all real.
00:52The last 12 months as an actor, it
00:56must have been so exciting, going into a movie
00:58like with Clint Eastwood, where you kind of have
01:00this idea of what he's like as a cinematographer.
01:05Going into something with Robert Eggers
01:06after watching something like The Lighthouse,
01:08I'm sure you have, and The Norseman, and The Witch,
01:10you must go in and be like, this is going to be,
01:11it's like going to a theme park as an actor
01:13when you don't really know what to expect.
01:15It really is.
01:15It really is.
01:16It's funny, I shot Lost for Art, then
01:18had two days off before going to make a movie with Justin
01:21Curzel called The Order with Jude Law.
01:25And then I had a weekend off before going
01:27to shoot the movie with Clint.
01:29And all of those guys, all those directors,
01:31worked so differently.
01:33It really was like going through acting boot camp
01:36in the most wonderful way.
01:37I feel like I learned so much from Rob in this experience.
01:40And then so much, this was my second time
01:42working with Justin.
01:43I just adore him and think he's a fantastic director.
01:45So I love that experience.
01:45And then working with Clint, he's an icon of cinema.
01:48And I just learned so much from him as well.
01:50I had a great time with him.
01:51So yeah, it couldn't have been better.
01:52I was very happy.
01:53In the next 12 months, we see another big, big movie.
01:56As big as it can get, really.
01:58On its way.
01:59Are you enjoying having hair again for now?
02:02Yeah, it's growing back out.
02:03I like shaving my head.
02:05It's kind of quite liberating for me.
02:10Yeah, I don't know what to say about it at the moment.
02:14You don't know what you want me clattered for afterwards
02:17for letting too many secrets out?
02:18I'm just going to keep quiet about it, yeah.
02:20I'll let you off, mate.
