00:00So I started looking into this whole story in 2018 when my fiancée at the time was exploring
00:09potentially other career options or work and I offered to give her her CV a bit of a spruce.
00:18I saw right at the bottom a very vague reference to Harrods with no more information which seemed
00:24bizarre to me seeing as other temporary jobs even had bullet points and more information.
00:29So that struck me as a bit weird because I thought that's something we should be making
00:33more about. I asked her, she was reticent to tell me any more but I said well it's to help your CV
00:40and slowly it came out that she was the PA to the chairman. I didn't really think much about it,
00:47I went off and you know judged her CV as it were and it occurred to me whilst I was doing that,
00:53hold on the chairman of Harrods then, that's Mohamed Al-Fayed, that's amazing, wow, you know,
00:58nothing bad about him that I thought. So I then proudly presented that to her with right at the
01:06top of the CV in the cover note but you know all singing all dancing I was the personal assistant
01:12to Mohamed Al-Fayed, the former chairman of the world's most prestigious store Harrods. I thought
01:18she'd be delighted with this and her reaction was the exact opposite, she completely broke down
01:23in hysterics and crying and shaking asking me why have I got his name on there, get him off,
01:28get him off, get him off and clearly from that, that was the genesis moment where something is
01:34very very wrong here and that just set me off and the blinkers went on and I just dove down
01:39the rabbit hole. During the course of my investigation, I mean well over 100 women I
01:44spoke to, not everyone was at that time willing to come forward understandably, many were still
01:50terrified of him, he was alive for a lot of that time still and even in his 90s people
01:55were terrified of his power and his reach influence.
