Hale Byers & His Orchestra - Sea Legs

This is quite an interesting recording, as it is almost the only one being credited Hale Byers, and to my knowledge also the only recording of this tune. Hale Byers was a very versatile instrumentist, playing clarinet, flute, soprano saxophone, alto saxophone and bass saxophone, who is best known for his membership of different Whiteman outfits. The first picture shows a closeup, probably of Byers, with Paul Whiteman & his Ambassador Orchestra. This excellent record was made in 1926. According to Brian Rust, personnel includes Byers (alto sax, clarinet), Jack Mayhew and Nye Mayhew (alto sax, tenor sax and clarinet), Wayne Euchner (piano), Perry Botkin (banjo) and Emory Kenyon (drums).
