An Israeli airstrike hit 20 sites in southern Lebanon and central Beirut. The strikes preceded talks on a US-mediated ceasefire with Hezbollah, with optimism expressed by officials ahead of a vote by Israel's security cabinet.

00:38Killing three and injuring 26 in central Beirut, local residents say these were residential

00:43buildings.

00:44Hezbollah began firing into northern Israel, saying it was showing support for Palestinians

00:49a day after Hamas carried out its October 7, 2023 attack, which triggered the invasion

00:54of Gaza.

00:55Two sides have been exchanging barrages ever since.
