00:00I've been at that edge of darkness.
00:01It's not that I haven't thought of things that Sushant did.
00:05I saw his crying sister.
00:07And the only thought that I had looking at Sushant's body there
00:10was, buddy, if you had seen this scene,
00:13if you saw what this action would do to the people you love,
00:18you wouldn't have made this mistake.
00:20I sat on the floor,
00:23put my head on my mom's lap like a baby and cried.
00:26I said, why is that happening to me?
00:27Why is this happening to me?
00:30I've also spoken a lot on this subject, which is very
00:36pertinent to the youth today, especially about mental health.
00:41And, you know, you've said that, in fact,
00:43It's a pandemic.
00:44Yeah. In fact, you quoted saying that you resonate with Sushant,
00:47what Sushant Singh Rajan did say.
00:50And not just about the industry, but about dealing with something
00:54of this gravitas and you yourself have been through it.
00:57Can you talk to me a little bit about that and what you did,
01:00the steps that you took to overcome?
01:02Because I hope that this can inspire people who are watching,
01:05who perhaps are maybe going through something similar in their life.
01:09I think I've met, I've interacted with Sushant.
01:11He was a lovely boy, phenomenal talent and absolute tragedy to lose him the way
01:17we did as an industry.
01:19It was a loss to the industry.
01:21It was a loss to people at large.
01:24And I think, if I'm being absolutely honest,
01:32there's a very dark place that you can get to in life,
01:36especially when professional, personal,
01:43all of it starts to go wrong at the same time.
01:46It's a very dark place that you can get to.
01:50I've been there.
01:54I've been at that edge of darkness.
01:57It's not that I haven't thought of things that Sushant did.
02:01But when I was there at his funeral, at his pyre,
02:05when I was looking at his sister cry the way she was,
02:07because in the middle of COVID, it was pouring rain.
02:12So sad to see this beautiful boy, this amazing star,
02:19going there with barely 20 people there at the funeral.
02:23And I was one of those 20 that made it there
02:25because I felt that I want to be there for him and his family there.
02:32And in that rain, I saw the shattered eyes of his father.
02:38I saw his crying sister.
02:41And the only thought that I had looking at Sushant's body there
02:44was, buddy, if you had seen this scene,
02:48if you saw what this action would do to the people you love,
02:53you wouldn't have made this mistake.
02:55You wouldn't have taken this step.
02:58So I think if you're in that dark place,
03:02fast forward in your head.
03:07Bite that time.
03:08Think of what you would do by doing something like that,
03:11by ending your life to the ones who have genuinely loved you,
03:16nothing but loved you.
03:18Think of the hurt and pain.
03:20You're feeling pain.
03:21But if you feel like you don't want to cause them pain,
03:26you'll stop hurting that much.
03:29Go into love.
03:30Go into the light.
03:31That's where it is.
03:33Go to the people who actually love you.
03:37And that pain will dissipate.
03:39There's a Katha says, you cry, you're upset, you mourn, you mope.
03:43It all comes out.
03:45I was fortunate that I had that home.
03:48I have that home.
03:49I have that family.
03:50I have that sister.
03:51I have that mother.
03:52I have that father who would hold me in those moments.
03:57It's not that I haven't cried.
03:59Why is this happening to me?
04:00I sat on the floor, put my head on my mom's lap like a baby and cried.
04:07I said, why is that happening?
04:08Why is this happening to me?
04:09And moms as moms are, they're genuinely, my mom's my true hero.
04:13There's God on earth in my mind.
