00:00I don't have a problem with fame, I don't have a problem with money, give it to me, I'll keep it.

00:04I think it was only Shah Rukh who did it 20 years back, 22 years back.

00:30So you are basically one of the actors who is majorly responsible of changing people's

00:46perception as to even TV actors can make it like big in Bollywood, right?

00:50So and after you, there were many, many TV actors who actually ventured into Bollywood.

00:55So do you think Bollywood has now opened arms to TV actors?

00:58Yeah, I think generally when something happens, we look at it, we try to make sense of it,

01:04and then we invent a logic to explain it. So probably the facts were not supporting this

01:13transition. I think it was only Shah Rukh who did it 20 years back, 22 years back.

01:21So yeah, so people had this tendency to think that, okay, maybe this doesn't work.

01:26But I felt that if you replace the TV camera with a film camera, I'll do the same thing.

01:32And I was doing the same thing in theatre too, the lay one. So I don't see a point that I

01:41cannot be convincing in front of a film camera, just because it's a film camera.

01:46So I did it. And then once this thing happened, I think, yeah, people have opened up,

01:51they know that, okay, this can happen. He can still be convincing, he can still survive.

01:56So probably we can have more of these people.

01:59I was going through your previous interviews, in which you have stated you were the youngest in

02:04the family and obviously pampered, but you also were an introvert. So was that one of the reasons

02:09you took up dancing and then eventually acting? No, I didn't know. I didn't know then that

02:14this was the reason. Well, this was the reason now that when I look at it.

02:19But I didn't know then. I just did it. And I did it because there were no girls in my college.

02:28I sat for a very tough exam. I cleared it. I go to this college and there were no girls.

02:34So I felt cheated. So somebody told me, why don't you go and join a dance class?

02:41Because there you get very good looking girls. So I was like, okay.

02:45And so I joined this dance class. And then the first time I was performing on stage,

02:50I felt something. I was like, oh, wow, I can actually communicate without even saying anything.

02:56Can I do it with words? So I tried theater. And then I was like, wow, I can say things that I want

03:02to. But let me tell you one thing, don't judge me because I'm the character. Camouflage.

03:08So that was like a very, very magical. That was like, okay, this is something that I want to do

03:16for the rest of my life. And that is the why of me, why I want to be an actor.

03:24You were a very good student because you obviously had pursued engineering and you

03:27I'm still a very good actor.

03:31Is that an added advantage for your directors? Are you a director's actor?

03:34Yeah, directors hire me because they think that I could do the job. And so I mostly and that's my

03:44that's the only reason that is the why of my work. I don't have a problem with fame. I don't

03:50have a problem with money. Give it to me. I'll keep it. But that's not the reason. That's not

03:57the drive. My thing is to get things to a very close to what it should be. That's my intent.

04:08So that's what I do. And my directors, I think most of the times, I think till now all the time,

04:14they have, they like working because of only this reason that I am honest to my work.
