00:00The statements we have heard in the past few days are very worrying.

00:05There is no need to be humble, and the threat of a plan to kill some of us,

00:14if the plan to kill a president is that simple.

00:18What about the common people?

00:22Such crimes should not be tolerated. That is my message.

00:31As a democratic country, we need to uphold the rule of law.

00:35I, as the head of the Executive Department, and all those in charge of the government,

00:43have sworn an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution and our laws.

00:50That is why it is wrong to stop the law-abiding citizens from seeking the truth.

00:57I do not hope that this drama will end if the legitimate questions are answered

01:04by the Senate and the House of Representatives.

01:06The truth should not be ignored.

01:10I hope that this discussion will end if the oath is still true,

01:16and that the citizens will speak the truth and will not be held back.

01:22Instead of giving a straightforward answer, they are trying to make it sound like a joke.

01:26I hope that these events will end so that we can be assured and the truth will be brought to us.

01:35I have also served 12 years in both chambers of Congress.

01:40I have sworn an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution and our laws.

01:46That is why I regard their actions as an independent act of our Republic.

01:54Even though the entire Executive Branch and all agencies are not safe

02:00and are always under their scrutiny,

02:03as a country, we have many challenges to face

02:09and many problems that need to be solved.

02:11Despite the challenges, I have always paid attention to the Executive Branch.

02:16However, we will not compromise the rule of law.

02:21The law must obey in any situation, no matter who is hit.

02:27That is why I will not allow the desire of others to defeat the entire country in the field of politics.

02:36Let us stop the process. Let us uphold the law.

02:40Let us remember the mandate entrusted to us by millions of Filipinos.

02:46Let us work for the prosperity of the Republic of the Philippines

02:51and for the establishment of a new Philippines.
