00:40And he offered the maximum money of 5000 crores plus to redevelop Tharavi, which is the biggest

00:52And Adani, if you go to his page, and when he talks about, you know, developing this
00:57place, then he says that Mike Tyson once said that he wants to visit two places in
01:02India, one is Taj Mahal, and the other is Tharavi.
01:06And then Adani says, he writes, his team writes on their website, that next time when Mike
01:13Tyson comes to see Tharavi, it will be a completely different place altogether.
01:18Well, all this what Adani says to impress the people over here, or the people of India,
01:25people of Maharashtra, people of Mumbai, but it all seems to be working as BJP is winning.
01:31And people know that, and opposition has kept saying that how BJP and Prime Minister Narendra
01:38Modi has been close to Adani.
01:40And he has been saying that Prime Minister Modi is ek hai toh safe hai, the entire Nara,
01:47the slogan was about Adani and Prime Minister being together, that they are safe together.
01:53However, this election result completely tells you a different story, not about what
01:58Rahul Gandhi has been claiming, because Tharavi's issue has not been the issue of Maharashtra.
02:05Mahim, we might see a change, that opposition might win, but overall in Maharashtra, it
02:11has not been the issue for the voters, more than 5 lakh people live in Tharavi, in that
02:18place.
02:19There are multiple works, small scale industries are working there, leather is something that
02:26is a very big part of their work culture over there, if you go to Tharavi, you will see
02:31that there are multiple leather shops for pants and for shoes, for bags, it is all there
02:39right outside Tharavi.
02:41So this is what I'm talking about, that what will happen after Adani develops that area,
02:46where will these people go and work, are they going to provide them places to reconstruct
02:52their small industries or not, these will be the issues for the people of Tharavi.
02:57Of course, it is always better to have a clean space to live, because we know that what sort
03:03of problems the people of Tharavi face, they don't even have their own washrooms, no water,
03:09so I hope if it develops, there will be a completely different Tharavi.
03:14Oppositions will say that the authorities here are not going to gain a lot, there is
03:21a lot that in Tharavi will happen, that redevelopment will happen, in that Adani will have all the
03:28say to decide how tall the towers will be, how multi-storey it will be, if it will be
03:3414-multi-storey or 20-multi-storey building, all this will be under Adani control and this
03:41is what opposition has been saying, that it should not happen in this manner and the
03:45local authorities should have the power to control all this, the taxes and every other
03:50thing that they have talked about in details, however, it has not worked at least in this
03:57election.
