In retrospect this film was the beginning of the end of Henry Garat's career. By 1940 he lost his popularity. In the early 1950's he tried, together with Lilian Harvey, a new singing career, they made some 78's discs but those pre-war operetta songs were oldfashioned and did not sell. Garat became a drugs addict, he opened a pub called "Le Chemin du Paradis" (title of his first movie).
