Haile Gebrselassie, arguably the world's greatest-ever distance runner having set a remarkable total of 26 World records in his career, will bid to win a second BUPA Great Manchester Run title this Sunday ( 17th May)
Organisers hope that the world record of 27mins02 seconds could be broken by the 35 year old as the course has been changed to make it much faster. "I like Manchester, it is a good fast course and I'm looking forward to returning. It fits perfectly into my programme.” Gebrselassie said.
He is currently fitting his athletics around his work as mentor for the G4S 4-Teen, an innovative sports programme to support a group of aspiring young athletes from around the world.
In this video we see Haile and four members of the G4S 4_Teen at a training camp in Kenya.
