00:00A few months before his return to the White House, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump

00:04spoke on the phone of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

00:07Here, the Executive Board affirmed the stronger relationship between the two countries.

00:17President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. reiterated the commitment of the Philippines

00:22to strengthen the alliance of the country and the United States.

00:25The President made a phone call to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump

00:30that he described as a productive conversation.

00:33The President and Trump had a chance to discuss the deepening of the alliance of the two countries

00:38that he has been establishing for a long time.

00:55We have expressed to him our continuing desire to strengthen that relationship between our two countries

01:05which is a relationship that is as deep as can possibly be because it has been for a very long time.

01:13The Executive Board also confirmed the support given to Trump by the Filipinos in the U.S.

01:18and hoped that they will have a chance to have a personal conversation.

01:23I also reminded the President-elect that the Filipinos in the U.S. overwhelmingly voted for Trump.

01:33I'm sure he will remember that when we meet.

01:40I plan to meet with him as soon as I can.

01:43He said maybe he's already in the White House before I can go.

01:50The President and Trump were unable to discuss the situation of the Filipino immigrants in the U.S.

01:54but the President-elect is currently being supported by the Philippine Ambassador in the U.S.

01:58The Executive Board also hoped that Trump and the President-elect will work together in the coming months

02:03to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

02:07I expressed to him our continuing desire to strengthen that relationship between our two countries

02:18which is a relationship that is as deep as can possibly be because it has been for a very long time.

02:26Meanwhile, the President-elect hoped that Ukraine will have a chance to achieve long-term peace

02:31along with his reminder of the 1,000 days of chaos in the so-called country.

02:36The President-elect also gave support to the Philippines in the pursuit of sovereignty, freedom,

02:41unity, and territorial integrity of Ukraine

02:44He was the first to send a letter to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last June.

02:49The President-elect asked for an end to the chaos there and for the country to have a chance to achieve peace

02:55especially since Ukraine is considered a partner of the country

02:58and he is confident that the relationship between the two countries will be stronger in the coming times.
