00:00We just wanted something after the pandemic. It was such a dark time for everyone. We just
00:29wanted Christmas to be brighter and better. So that was our initial reason to start this
00:36competition.
00:38This competition is a platform for the country to showcase their creativity, nationalism,
00:45and patriotism because the parole, as we were talking about earlier, is actually only unique
00:50to the Philippines.
00:51In total, there are a record-breaking 148 paroles in this competition. Each parole is composed
00:58of four speakers. This Friday, the judges will be judged for the entries that have their
01:04own unique beauty.
01:05Joining the judges are Director Joey Reyes, Chairman of the Film Development Council of
01:09the Philippines, Designer Neil Phillips San Pedro, Comedian, Host, and Singer Vice Ganda,
01:15Philanthropist Lizzie Zobel de Ayala, and Fashion Designer Michael Leyva.
01:20The paroles that caught my attention are the ones given to really exquisite detail.
01:27The ones that I know were thought of and worked hard for. There are others that were worked
01:33hard for, but not really thought of. And there are others that were thought of, but not really
01:38worked hard for.
01:39Because I think it gives everyone a reminder. It gives everyone inspiration and a reminder
01:46that the parole tradition needs to be kept alive. And that it can be, in any form or
01:52shape, a reflection of our community and our sentiments around Christmas.
01:57Really impressive. It's way beyond what I expected, especially that they were just high
02:01school students. And the construction to the small, tiny details was extremely exquisite.
02:08And it really gives me great pride to see the next generation of creative Filipinos.
02:14I said, maybe there are kids out there who wanted to have OJT in my atelier or in my
02:19company. I'd like to get them because I'm very much willing to have new ideas from them
02:25also. The kids now are really very good.
02:28For the criteria for judging, 20% is creativity and originality. 30% is technical skills
02:35and craftsmanship. 20% is adherence to the theme or following the theme for this year.
02:4020% for overall impact and aesthetic. And 10% for online votes.
02:46For those who will study, those who will win here will definitely have a happy Christmas
02:50because the top 3 winners will win laptops and smartphones.
02:54Aside from this, 300,000 pesos for 3rd place, 500,000 pesos for 2nd place, and a whopping
03:001,000,000 pesos for 1st place.
03:03According to the social secretary office, the top 3 winners will announce on December
03:071 the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony here in Malacanang.
