Eluned Morgan: 100 days as First Minister

First Minister Eluned Morgan has officially been in charge for a hundred days, so we’ll be taking a look at her tenure so far. She was appointed after the controversial and ultimately unsuccessful premiership of Vaughan Gething, and has definitely calmed tensions within her party.

00:07Minister of Wales after the tumultuous premiership of Vaughan Gething came crashing down just

00:11a few months into his time in power.

00:14She spent her first few weeks speaking to people across Wales about the issues that

00:18mattered to them, something that has been lambasted as a public relations stunt, but

00:22with it, she learned that the NHS was a clear top priority.

00:26She has set NHS waiting times, which have constantly broken records for the longest

00:30in Welsh history, as her main focus and she has put millions of pounds into cutting waiting

00:35times but out of now, it's too early to see any real improvements.

00:39Her party was wholly divided just six months ago and has clearly steadied a ship destined

00:45for the rocks. She has pushed aside issues that the public are less interested in and

00:50will hope with roughly two years until the next Senate elections that she will have come

00:53through on promises and created as much distance as possible from her predecessor.
