00:00And then I met the amazing musicians here, some amazing musicians here in New York.
00:06I've met my co-producer Joseph Cruz.
00:13All right, the title of my new single is Paglaya.
00:18And again, the song is about remembering the good times we've had with our loved ones,
00:25cherishing everything, and at the same time, noting that life moves forward, unfortunately,
00:33and they may go ahead of us, but the memories remain the same, and it should be nurtured and
00:45appreciated all the time.
00:47I just always love the idea of writing music.
00:51Um, ever since I was a child, I grew up with singing Dora Me, if you don't know that,
00:58if you know them, Donna Cruz, Regine Velasquez, Mikey, and then of course, um,
01:06Lea Salonga.
01:07I love, I grew up like with, I remember cassette tapes before, my parents bought me that
01:15set with a microphone, and I would like sing during family events.
01:20But that's just about it.
01:21Um, and then I met my, some friends, I worked in Dubai as well as a nurse, but then I met
01:30some of my friends that are really into music writing.
01:33They encouraged me to write music, and that's when it really started.
01:37Um, and yeah.
01:39Oh, yes, it's my late dad.
01:42Um, he, he just really loves music.
01:45He plays almost all instruments.
01:48Um, like I said, he plays a piano, he plays a guitar, he plays bass.
01:53Um, yes, he inspired me.
01:59Yes, it was, I got, I think, 11 years ago, randomly, I was, I was just like playing at
02:05home.
02:06And then I know my, my dad and my, their, his friends are outside, um, by the, the garden
02:12area, and I was playing inside the living room.
02:15And then someone walked inside the living room and said, is that your own songs?
02:21And I'm like, yes.
02:23And then, do you want to send it to some record labels in the Philippines and see if they
02:30would be interested?
02:32And I said, yeah, can we do that?
02:36And then, you know, fortunately, GMA Music was the first one to respond, and we just
02:42like, went ahead with it.
02:44He's super duper excited.
02:47Um, he's like, I think my number one supporter in terms of my music.
02:54Um, so he was really ecstatic and happy about it.
02:58Or originally, I really love, um, indie folk music.
03:02I just love, um, playing acoustic instruments and talk about life itself in terms of like
03:12music writing.
03:14And then I met the amazing musicians here, um, some amazing musicians here in New York.
03:22I've met my co-producer, Joseph Cruz.
03:26If not for him, I wouldn't be able to like really write songs again.
03:31It was just like an easy collaboration with him.
03:35The process would be like, oh, hey, Elle, do you like this, um, this music?
03:42And I'm like, yeah, I think I can write something about it.
03:45And then I'll just write it on my way to work.
03:48Normally, lahat nung sinasulat kong kanta, I was just like, on my way to work.
03:53I, I don't know, but I don't see it as a challenge.
03:57It's actually a blessing, um, that I've met these wonderful and talented musicians here.
04:06If I'm in the Philippines, I don't even know if I'd get a chance because there's so many
04:09good artists in the Philippines.
04:11So I don't know if I'd have the chance to, like, write music.
04:18Kung i-invite mo ako eh.
04:21If I'd be invited, yes, it's one of my dream to actually play there.
04:27Why not?
04:28Yes.
04:30Let's go.
04:32Um, collaborate with most definitely, um, collaborate maybe with Ben and Ben or, um,
04:41R.B.
