00:00Our new movie, The 6888, is named after the war heroines you probably never heard about in school.

00:06They were the only all-black and women-of-color battalion to serve in Europe during World War II.

00:13These women were assigned the nearly impossible task of delivering millions of pieces of illegible, damaged, and backlogged mail.

00:20It was a problem no one else had been able to solve.

00:23But of course, The 6888 delivered.

00:27Few people know the story of these brave and dedicated women.

00:31And the way they restored hope and morale to countless Americans when they needed it most, even as they faced painful discrimination.

00:39Their labor has gone largely unrecognized until now.

00:44We salute these amazing veterans today and every day.
