00:00Pratishtha Atmaka AP Drone Policy 2024
00:04was announced by the National Cabinet in May.
00:06To talk about this, we have with us
00:08Dr. Suresh Kumar from the Department of
00:10Pettibadlu and Moluk Sadupayala.
00:12Sir, regarding this drone policy,
00:14what did you try to do?
00:16What are the main aspects of the policy?
00:18Before this, drones were used
00:20only for agriculture or
00:22for entertainment or photography.
00:24More than that, it was used for defense purposes.
00:26Drone use for civilian applications
00:28was very less.
00:30Drone is not just a machine,
00:32along with that, technology,
00:34deep technology, artificial intelligence,
00:36machine learning, IOT
00:38technology, if these are integrated,
00:40this drone will become
00:42a very powerful, effective
00:44tool.
00:46Today, in the country,
00:48we do not have a drone,
00:50a comprehensive, integrated ecosystem
00:52in any state.
00:54It was done with the intention
00:56of improving the quality of life
00:58of the people.
01:00You are using it for agriculture
01:02at present.
01:04What are the other aspects
01:06of the policy?
01:08In this policy, we have
01:10placed 3 pillars.
01:12In the next 2 months,
01:14100 use cases will be used
01:16for spraying in agriculture.
01:18Similarly, medicine delivery
01:20is another use case.
01:22Land survey is another use case.
01:24Low and order maintenance
01:26is another use case.
01:28In this way, in the next 1-2 months,
01:30100 use cases will be used
01:32for drone technology applications.
01:34Minimum 100 cases,
01:36that is the number.
01:38The second thing we are going to do
01:40is a sandbox.
01:42A sandbox is a place
01:44where we can store data
01:46from different sources
01:48in the hands of stakeholders.
01:50So, anyone can use the data,
01:52research and develop a use case.
01:54The third thing is,
01:56after developing a use case,
01:58we have to prepare a proof of concept.
02:00For example,
02:02we have to identify
02:04the Ganja cultivation in the forest,
02:06map the Ganja cultivation
02:08and use a drone
02:10to control it.
02:12Today, we have to know
02:14what information is required,
02:16what technology is required,
02:18what type of drone is required.
02:20If a successful proof of concept
02:22is encouraged by the government
02:24of Andhra Pradesh
02:26and if the proof of concept
02:28is successful,
02:30we will support you
02:32and give you incentives
02:34to develop it commercially.
02:36It can be a start-up,
02:38existing companies,
02:40MSMEs,
02:42academic institutions.
02:44When the drone application increases,
02:46we need drone pilots.
02:48In the next 2-3 years,
02:50we need drone pilots
02:52from 20,000 to 30,000 people.
02:54We need institutes
02:56to train these pilots.
02:58Secondly,
03:00we need a drone manufacturing hub.
03:02We are planning to build
03:04a 300-acre drone city
03:06in Oravakkal, Karnool district.
03:08There will be
03:10common use facilities
03:12like an industrial park.
03:14To test the drone,
03:16we need to compare
03:18it with wind speed.
03:20A system called wind tunnel
03:22has been developed.
03:24Before taking the drone
03:26for DGC approval,
03:28it should fly in a controlled environment
03:30and be successful.
03:32It should be stable
03:34and not fall down.
03:36It should be safe.
03:38To test all this,
03:40we need a wind tunnel.
03:42Will you build these facilities
03:44in the drone city
03:46without the drone corporation?
03:50What are your expectations
03:52for the drone city
03:54by 2029?
03:58Our expectation is
04:00that there will be
04:02a capacity of 10 billion people.
04:04There will be direct employment
04:06for 15,000 people.
04:08There will be indirect employment
04:10for 25,000 people.
04:12Currently,
04:14drones are being used for agriculture.
04:16What are you going to do
04:18to increase this capacity?
04:20Do you have any policies?
04:22There is a program called
04:24Drone DD.
04:26It is a government of India program.
04:28For agricultural purposes,
04:30the government of India
04:32provides a subsidy of 8 lakh rupees
04:34and a loan of 3 lakh rupees.
04:36We have the right to introduce
04:38such schemes in our state.
04:40If we talk to the departments,
04:42we will know
04:44which department needs it.
04:46If we give incentives,
04:48whether it is a loan
04:50or a subsidy,
04:52if we feel that more people
04:54will use drones,
04:56we will definitely
04:58achieve that goal.
05:00How many startups
05:02have you contacted?
05:04How many have you contacted?
05:06As I said earlier,
05:08there are 100 people
05:10who are interested in this.
