00:00The European Commission suspects Timu of breaching the Digital Services Act.
00:05It will now investigate such things such as allegations of selling illegal products on its
00:11site as well as having an addictive design. If found that it has violated the DSA, it will be
00:18subject Timu to fines of up to six percent of its annual turnover. The European Commission warns
00:25that as Timu has grown rapidly in recent years saying that with more users comes more responsibility.
00:32The Commission does say that Timu has shown a level of compliance but with its responses
00:38says that they've been either rather generic or its key issues that it has have not been
00:43satisfactorily answered. The Commission warns that if it wants to sustainably grow then it
00:50has to play by the rules.
