Carabao Cup quarter-final ties confirmed

Following the conclusion of the round of 16 ties, the quarter-finals of this season’s Carabao Cup have been confirmed. Daniel Wales reports.

00:08the conclusion of the last 16 matches on Wednesday evening. In the final eight, attempting to

00:13reach Wembley, will be Southampton, who play host to Holders Liverpool.

00:19At St James' Park, Newcastle United will welcome Brentford, with the Magpies having

00:23dispatched of Chelsea, whilst the Bees needed penalties to defeat Sheffield Wednesday on

00:28Tuesday. In perhaps the most high-profile tie of the round, Tottenham will be at home

00:33against Manchester United, with Spurs having knocked out Manchester City previously in

00:38the round of 16.

00:41And finally, the reward for Crystal Palace following their win at Aston Villa is a trip

00:45to the Emirates to face Arsenal. All four games will take place on the week commencing

00:50the 16th of December, with all of the sides vying for a spot in the final four before

00:56a possible trip to Wembley.
