00:00Do you have any thoughts on how English coaches get that body of work that attracts them?

00:04You've got to get the chance first of all, and that's hard enough.

00:08If we're using the Premier League as an example, there's only 20 Premier League jobs available.

00:13We've also discussed recently about the amount of foreign ownership,

00:17so therefore that sometimes can slant their views on whether they want a foreign manager or an English manager or a British manager.

00:22And you've still got to be good, you've got to know what you're doing,

00:26you've got to be able to produce what people want.

00:29Often the perception is more important than the facts now,

00:32so you've got to be perceived to be good enough as well,

00:35not actually good enough, but just perceived to be good enough,

00:38and that's a radical change I've noticed in the game,

00:41certainly over the last ten years that I've been in the Premier League.

00:44As you mentioned, ownership, standard question week in, week out.

00:48Yeah, same as it was last week and the week before that.

00:51No contact?

00:52No, no, it's just the same as it is, and waiting for things to take place if they're going to.
