00:10this will also be a way to build more jobs in Northern Mindanao.

00:20A few months after the inauguration of Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the private sector,

00:27a new PPP Concession Agreement was signed today.

00:33This is the second time in the longest history

00:37and is considered the main gateway to Northern Mindanao,

00:41the Lagindingan International Airport.

00:43President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:47approved the agreement between the Department of Transportation and Aboitiz Infracapital

00:53that it will oversee the upgrade, operation and maintenance of the airport within 30 years.

01:01The signing of this concession agreement for the Lagindingan International Airport

01:05Public-Private Partnership Project provides us with the opportunity to expand the facilities,

01:12upgrade the terminals, augment capacity,

01:15and deliver our services in a safer, efficient and more convenient way.

01:20This also shows our commitment to invest in the development of Northern Mindanao.

01:42This project has been in the works for 10 years

01:46thanks to the administration of President Marcos' strong leadership

01:52and focus, and I mean focus, on the private-public partnerships.

01:59He made it happen in just over two years.

02:02We look forward to the day that we have the international flights going to Northern Mindanao

02:08carrying our Ws and our tours.

02:15The strategic advantage of the Lagindingan International Airport

02:19is that it is located near Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City,

02:23and other highly urbanized provinces in Northern Mindanao.

02:27This is why it will definitely inspire tourism,

02:30encourage residents,

02:32and provide more opportunities.

02:36Lagindingan's transformation should promote regional growth,

02:40generate jobs and livelihood, and create investment opportunities.
