How many young Europeans live with their parents?

European adults leave their parents home at 26 on average according to Eurostat estimations.

However, the age varies significantly from nation to nation in Finland, Sweden and Denmark.

They usually move out by the age of 21.

By contrast, in Croatia, Slovakia, Greece, Spain, Bulgaria and Italy that normally doesn't happen before they're at least 30.

In terms of overall number of young adults still living with their parents,

the shares are particularly high in Southern Europe.

Italy's got the highest proportion of people that haven't left, 80%.

Followed by Greece at 78%, Spain at 77% and Portugal at 76%.

Nordic countries Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark have the lowest rates, all below 20%.
