00:00The local governments in Region 1 continued to urge them to prepare for the possible effects of the typhoon Christine.

00:08The details are in the national news of Joya Kimoyo of PIA in Locos Sur.

00:15The search and rescue personnel were called by 24-7 and the equipment and vehicles were prepared if needed.

00:23The family food packs, non-food items, and hygiene kits for the areas that are in dire need of these are also sufficient.

00:30These were prepared early because on Monday, the local governments carried out a pre-disaster risk assessment

00:37through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council or PDRRMC.

00:44The recommendation is that we should be prepared because we have additional supplies, additional food packs,

00:52additional hygiene kits, and family packs for the areas that are in dire need of these

01:00because we have provided augmentation to them.

01:06This morning, the region is under signal number 2.

01:09On Tuesday, the Regional DRRMC raised the red alert status to activate the emergency operations centers.

01:16The government agencies like the DSWD and DOH are happy about this.

01:21The entrance was suspended this Wednesday in Luzon.

01:24John Ray Tolentino, Search and Rescue Respondent, is not surprised because this is part of his sworn duty as a public servant.

01:34As a responder, even if there is a storm coming, I am still here on duty to help those in need.

01:42Meanwhile, fishermen were also warned not to go fishing because of the storm surge in the region.

02:04671 individuals or 227 families from Barangay Mindoro in the town of Bangar in the province of La Union

02:12were evacuated this Tuesday night.
