BAD DEBTS IN ACCOUNTS.

00:00Hello guys, this is Sonia Setia, your accounts and equity tutor.
00:04We were doing accounting terms for class 11th.
00:07Next term we have bad debts.
00:09Suppose you have made a sale in credit.
00:11The debtor did not pay you some part of the payment.
00:15You call that amount as bad debts.
00:18There can be two cases in bad debts.
00:20First, you did not get the full amount and you got some part of the payment.
00:25In the first case, suppose you did not get 50,000.
00:30Since bad debts is a loss, you made a debit.
00:33And I reduced the debtors from 50,000.
00:35In the second case, you made a debit as much as you got in cash account and bank account.
00:41Asset is increasing because you made a debit.
00:43Since bad debts is a loss, you made a debit.
00:46You had to take 1 lakh from 2 debtors.
