00:00I'm thrilled that we've been joined today by Governor General Sam Mostyn,
00:03New South Wales Governor Margaret Beazley and the New South Wales Minister for Heritage Penny Sharpe.
00:11We protect heritage assets and knowledge, promote sustainable ways of living and put these values
00:17and approaches into practice at our sites. 15,000 students were enrolled on one of our programmes
00:23and nearly a third of a million people chose to visit one of our projects.
00:27As many of you already know, His Majesty has a long and very affectionate relationship with Australia
00:36and has been dedicated to helping Australian communities. Projects have already included
00:40helping to design some sustainable social housing here in Sydney and rebuilding a bushfire
00:45devastated community on Kangaroo Island. Today we take a further step with the launch of King's
00:53Foundation Australia. This marks the first team on the ground. King's Foundation Australia will be a
01:01locally run independent charity but take inspiration from the broader King's Foundation family and our
01:08projects around heritage-led regeneration to new build projects and providing vital education in
01:14traditional building crafts and sustainable land use. As someone who was actually born less than
01:21two miles from this very building, today is a particular pleasure for me and I would like to
01:27thank everyone in this room who has done an enormous amount to make this possible. Thank you.
01:34It's a particular honour for me to give back to a country that gave me such a great start and to a
01:40country that His Majesty is naturally fond of because of the can-do attitude, the positivity
01:46and the way that Australians are so generous and kind with their time and with their
01:50approach to life. It is very noticeable the second you get off the plane
01:54and I'm very lucky to be able to come back here and give something back to the country that gave
01:58me so much. In the 30 years that I have been, I was wondering what would be the best word that
02:04would describe His Majesty's approach to things. The word that I would use is the word kindness.
02:11His Majesty is committed to cost-free so kind as to unknowable parts of the world.
02:41Would I be able to say hi?
03:41you
