00:00Up next, let's talk about how you get access to Tableau Prep.

00:04To download Tableau Prep, go to tableau.com slash products slash prep and click try it

00:11for free.

00:12On the next screen, it will ask you for a business email to start a 14-day trial.

00:18Note that this doesn't technically have to be a business email.

00:21If you're an independent contractor or you're just looking to try Tableau Prep out, you

00:24can certainly use your private email as well.

00:27Once you've put in your email, just click the download free trial button and your download

00:32will start right away.

00:33Now a quick note about Tableau Prep that's different from Tableau Desktop.

00:38Tableau Desktop has a 14-day trial that's free as well, but Tableau Desktop also has

00:43Tableau Public as an option.

00:46Tableau Public is a more limited version of Tableau Desktop that still has all of the

00:50functionality of the main paid version.

00:53Now Tableau Prep doesn't have that option yet, so you're able to take advantage of the

00:5714-day trial, but after that point, you'll have to pay a monthly subscription.

01:03Now this might be through your organization, so you won't have to worry about it, or you

01:07could be an individual looking to use Tableau Prep as part of your own business.

01:12Monthly subscription rates can vary, but right now this is priced at about $70 a month.

01:17If you do start a paid subscription, we highly recommend the Tableau Creator for Individuals

01:22option.

01:24This is your cheapest option and you get access to Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and an individual

01:30license of Tableau Server where you can publish and test your dashboards out.

01:34Once you've downloaded and installed Tableau Prep Builder, you'll be prompted to the registration

01:39page where you'll put in your information, and then you can get started using Tableau

01:43Prep.

01:44It should be noted that Tableau is always advancing its integration with its web components,

01:49and we feel that Tableau Prep may be part of Tableau Public at some point, but for now,

01:53your options are the 14-day free trial followed by a subscription.

01:58Now that we've talked about downloading and installing Tableau Prep, let's jump in and
