00:00Good morning, let's first update on the Tropical Depression Christine that we are monitoring.
00:07This is Christine.
00:09Earlier, at 4 in the afternoon, she was at a distance of 760 kilometers east of Katarman, northern Samar.
00:16She was experiencing strong winds that reached 55 kilometers per hour
00:21and storms that reached 70 kilometers per hour.
00:24She was moving in the direction of Canluran in a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
00:29So, comparing the wind speed earlier at 11 a.m., this is a bit slower.
00:34We can also see in our satellite image that although Christine is a bit far away,
00:41her circulation is wide.
00:44Although the direct effect here in the eastern part of Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas,
00:50her travel extension will affect a large part of our country.
00:54That is why it is possible that it will affect a large part of our country.
01:00What are we expecting with regards to Christine's track?
01:04So, in the next 12 hours, it is possible that she will reach the Tropical Storm category.
01:10So, if Christine becomes a Tropical Storm, it is possible that we will see storm surge warnings.
01:16By Wednesday, it is possible that it will become a Severe Tropical Storm
01:21or a Typhoon category by Thursday before it landfalls around the Northern Luzon area.
01:27So, before it landfalls in our country, it is possible that it will slow down.
01:31That is why we will feel the strong rains and strong winds.
01:35That is why we will be with you in the upcoming updates of Pag-asa
01:39as well as the Regional Services Division for the Rainfall Advisory,
01:43Heavy Rainfall Warning, or Thunderstorm Advisory.
01:47Like what we mentioned earlier, it is possible that it will landfall in the Northern Luzon area
01:52by Thursday evening or Friday morning.
01:55We will also see that it will landfall in the area of uncertainty or cone of probability.
02:01Not only in the Northern Luzon area, but also in the other parts of Central Luzon.
02:06That is why we are always on the lookout for changes in the track
02:10because we do not rule out changes in the forecast track.
02:15We also do not rule out rapid intensification.
02:19That is why we will be with you in the upcoming updates of our agency.
02:27We also have a high signal number 1.
