Violence has escalated in Manipur's Jiribam district, displacing around 1,500 people amid rising tensions between the Meitei and Kuki communities. The unrest was triggered by a protest against the state government, with allegations of mismanagement fueling the conflict. Despite calls for dialogue, mistrust persists, and security forces are deployed to manage the volatile situation.
