Women in Art Fair started trying to re-address the gender imbalance within the art industry.

This is our second year, we started creating it about seven years ago.

SRQS Gallery is a gallery that represents artists who identify as women and so for me

it made a lot of sense to come and show work at the Women in Art Fair.

The Women in Art Fair has given Arts for Dementia an opportunity to show some work that we can

sell to benefit people with dementia.

This year in the open call we had submitted over 2,000 applications and artworks and we've

brought it down to about 100 and something.

We had an incredible response.

It's really fascinating actually walking around and seeing all the work, there's a real kind

of feeling of hope and joy actually.

I don't think sex should define art, it's just whether you're a man or a woman you're

still an artist I'm sure you're motivated by very similar reasons.

But of course it's great to have a women-centred space where we're really able to see what

amazing art women can make.
