00:25After my visit to Israel and Palestine last February, having witnessed the damage

00:29that these extremist ministers in the Netanyahu government are doing,

00:34I called on the last government to sanction them.

00:37The last government refused, but we now learn that the former Foreign Secretary was considering this.

00:43So will the Prime Minister now sanction ministers Ben-Gvir and Smotrych?

00:48We are looking at that because they're obviously abhorrent comments, as he rightly says,

00:54along with other really concerning activity in the West Bank.

00:59But also across the region, the humanitarian situation in Gaza is dire.

01:05The death toll has surpassed 42,000, and access to basic services is becoming much harder.

01:13And Israel must take all possible steps to avoid civilian casualties,

01:18to allow aid into Gaza in much greater volume,

01:21and provide the UN and humanitarian partners the ability to operate effectively.

01:27Mr Speaker, along with France, the UK will convene an urgent meeting

01:31of the UN Security Council to address this.
