00:00Isaiah 3
00:02for behold
00:03The Lord the Lord of hosts doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff
00:11the whole stay of bread and the whole stay of water
00:15the mighty man and the man of war the judge and the prophet and the prudent and the
00:21ancient the captain of 50 and the honorable man and the counselor and the cunning artificer and the
00:30eloquent orator
00:32And I will give children to be their princes and babes shall rule over them
00:36And the people shall be oppressed every one by another and every one by his neighbor
00:42The child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient and the base against the honorable
00:50When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father saying thou hast clothing be thou our ruler
00:56And let this ruin be under thy hand
01:00In that day shall he swear saying I will not be an healer for in my house is neither bread nor clothing
01:07Make me not a ruler of the people
01:10For Jerusalem is ruined and Judah is fallen because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord
01:17to provoke the eyes of his glory
01:20The show of their countenance doth witness against them and they declare their sin as Sodom
01:26They hide it not woe unto their soul for they have rewarded evil unto themselves
01:33Say ye to the righteous that it shall be well with him
01:37For they shall eat the fruit of their doings
01:40Woe unto the wicked it shall be ill with him for the reward of his hands shall be given him
01:48as for my people
01:50Children are their oppressors and women rule over them
01:54Oh my people they which lead thee cause thee to err and destroy the way of thy paths
02:02The Lord standeth up to plead and standeth to judge the people
02:08The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people and the princes thereof
02:14For ye have eaten up the vineyard the spoil of the poor is in your houses
02:19What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces and grind the faces of the poor saith the Lord God of hosts
02:28Moreover the Lord saith because the daughters of Zion are hearty and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes
02:36Walking and mincing as they go and making a tinkling with their feet
02:42Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion
02:47And the Lord will discover their secret parts
02:51In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet and their cowls
02:58And their round tires like the moon
03:02the chains and the bracelets and the mufflers the bonnets and
03:08The ornaments of the legs and the headbands and the tablets and the earrings
03:13the rings and nose jewels
03:16The changeable suits of apparel and the mantles and the wimples and the
03:22crisping pins the glasses and the fine linen and the hoods and the veils
03:28And it shall come to pass that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink and instead of a girdle a rent
03:35And instead of well-said hair
03:38baldness and instead of a stomacher a
03:41Girding of sackcloth and burning instead of beauty
03:46thy men shall fall by the sword and thy mighty in the war and
03:51Her gates shall lament and mourn and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground
04:01As therefore
04:03And in that day
04:05Seven women shall take hold of one man saying
04:08We will eat our own bread and wear our own apparel
04:12Only let us be called by thy name to take away our reproach
04:18In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious and
04:22The fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel
04:28And it shall come to pass that he that is left in Zion and he that remaineth in Jerusalem
04:36Shall be called holy
04:38Even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem
04:41when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and
04:45shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning and
04:53The Lord will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion and upon her assemblies a cloud and smoke
05:01By day and the shining of a flaming fire by night for upon all the glory shall be a defense
05:09and there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat and
05:14For a place of refuge and for a covert from storm and from rain
05:21Isaiah 5
05:23Now will I sing to my well-beloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard
05:30My well-beloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill
05:33and he fenced it and gathered out the stones thereof and planted it with the choicest vine and
05:40Built a tower in the midst of it and also made a winepress therein and he looked that it should bring forth grapes
05:48and it brought forth wild grapes and
05:51Now Oh inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah judge. I pray you betwixt me and my vineyard
05:59What could have been done more to my vineyard that I have not done in it?
06:04Wherefore when I look that it should bring forth grapes brought it forth wild grapes
06:09And now go to I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I
06:14Will take away the hedge thereof and it shall be eaten up and break down the wall thereof
06:21And that shall be trodden down
06:24And I will lay it waste
06:26It shall not be pruned nor digged
06:29But there shall come up briars and thorns. I
06:33Will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it
06:37for the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel and the men of Judah is
06:44pleasant to plant
06:46And he looked for judgment, but behold oppression
06:50for righteousness
06:52But behold a cry
06:55Warned to them that join house to house that lay field to field
07:00Till there be no place that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth
07:06In mine ears said the Lord of hosts
07:09Of a truth many houses shall be desolate even great and fair without inhabitant. Yay
07:15Ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath and the seed of an Homer shall yield an Aoife
07:24Warned to them that rise up early in the morning that they may follow strong drink that continue until night
07:30Till wine inflame them and the harp and the vial the tablet and pipe and wine
07:38Are in their feasts
07:40But they regard not the work of the Lord
07:43Neither consider the operation of his hands
07:47Therefore my people are gone into captivity because they have no knowledge and their honorable men are famished
07:54And their multitude dried up with thirst
07:58Therefore hell hath enlarged herself
08:00And open her mouth without measure and their glory and their multitude in their pomp and he that rejoiceth
08:09shall descend into it and
08:12The mean man shall be brought down and the mighty man shall be humbled and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled
08:20But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness
08:29Then shall the lambs feed after their manner and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat
08:39Warned to them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity and sin as it were with a cut rope
08:46that say
08:48Let him make speed and hasten his work
08:51That we may see it and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel drawn nigh and come
08:57That we may know it
08:59Warned to them that call evil good and good evil
09:04That put darkness for light and light for darkness that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter
09:12Warned to them that are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight
09:19Warned to them that are mighty to drink wine and men of strength to mingle strong drink
09:24Which justify the wicked for reward and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him?
09:31Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble and the flame consumeth the chaff
09:37So their root shall be as rottenness and their blossom shall go up as dust
09:42Because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel
09:50Therefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people and he has stretched forth his hand against them and hath smitten them
09:59And the hills did tremble and their carcasses were torn in the midst of the streets
10:04For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still
10:11And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth and
10:19Behold, they shall come with speed swiftly
10:24None shall be weary nor stumble among them. None shall slumber nor sleep
10:29Neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed nor the latched of their shoes be broken
10:36Whose arrows are sharp and all their bows bent?
10:40Their horses hoofs shall be counted like flint and their wheels like a whirlwind
10:48Their roaring shall be like a lion
10:51They shall roar like young lions. Yeah, they shall roar
10:55And lay hold of the prey and shall carry it away safe and none shall deliver it
11:03And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea
11:07And if one look unto the land behold darkness and sorrow and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof
