00:00Hello. Another dry day for most today. There's quite a bit more cloud around across England
00:05and Wales compared to the last couple of days, and a slightly cooler feel for many as well.
00:11That's because there's a cold front drifting south across the UK. Can't really make it
00:15out too clearly. This line of thicker cloud, which has been producing a little bit of rain
00:20across the Midlands and Wales, is that cold front, which continues to push southwards
00:24through the rest of today. So more cloud across southern parts of England. Could just see
00:28one or two more showers over south-west England. But for most, it will be dry. Brighter skies
00:33across northern England this afternoon. Plenty of sunshine for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:37But a fresher feel compared to recent days. Temperatures, especially on those eastern
00:42coasts, may not get much above 10 or 11 degrees Celsius. Still quite warm across the south-west.
00:4817 or 18 is possible where we hang on to some sunny spells. But generally a cooler feel,
00:53and certainly it's going to be a cold night tonight. Any showers in the south-west, they
00:57fade away. And then we've got clear skies for the vast majority. And you can see that
01:01blue hue on the map suggesting a frost for many. It stays fairly cloudy across Shetlands.
01:07Maybe the odd shower here. But otherwise, it's all about those tumbling temperatures.
01:12And we'll drop down to freezing or below, even in some urban areas. And in rural spots,
01:17we will be well below. Now, there's a bit more of a breeze blowing across parts of the
01:21south that may help to prevent a frost. But even here, some parts of the countryside could
01:25drop to zero. And in rural parts of northern England and Scotland, we could drop as low
01:30as minus 5 or minus 6. So a really cold start for the time of year. We'll be quite blustery
01:35though across the south and particularly the south-west. Some cloud generated by that wind
01:39across parts of South Devon. Often fairly cloudy in northern Scotland as well. Continued
01:44risk of a shower or two in Shetland. But otherwise, it's dry and fine. And it will be a sunny
01:50day. And although it's going to start pretty cold by the afternoon, temperatures climbing
01:54a little higher than today's values. So we'll be back more widely into the mid-teens. I
01:59suspect we could get 15, 16, possibly 17 in one or two locations. Always where the breeze
02:03is coming in from the sea, it'll feel cooler. Certainly quite a lot colder with a gusty
02:07wind across the south-west. That will be a feature of the weather for the rest of this
02:11week. Actually, quite gusty conditions for Devon and Cornwall. We'll keep a bit of cloud
02:15across northern Scotland on Thursday evening. But otherwise, again, clear skies. So expect
02:20a frosty start to Friday. High pressure is dominating our weather. But closer to this
02:25low down towards the far south-west, that's where the isobars are squeezing together.
02:30So we will keep those gusty winds in the south-west through Friday and Saturday. Weather fronts
02:35always threatening Shetland at times. But for most, high pressure means more dry weather
02:40with sunny spells by day. Staying quite windy in the south-west and a continued threat of
02:45night-time frosts. For more information, make sure you're following the Met Office
