00:00Hello. Welcome to your national weather updates for most parts of the country.
00:05The first of the Bank holidays this long weekend is set fair, plenty of dry and sunny weather.
00:10After that, it does get a little more complicated.
00:13Now, we've seen lots of showers through the course of the past few days,
00:16but they're fading through Wednesday evening.
00:18And for most, it's going to be a dry night with clear spells.
00:20The winds are light, which will allow it to turn a little misty,
00:23some fog patches for a time possible, certainly over the Midlands and eastern England.
00:27And it's going to be another pretty chilly one through some sheltered glens of Scotland,
00:31not far off freezing.
00:33And for most places, we're well down into single figures to start Thursday.
00:37But by and large, it's going to be a sunny start to that first of the Bank holidays.
00:42There is an exception to the rule on Thursday, and that's for Northern Ireland,
00:46where we are going to see increasing amounts of cloud and eventually some rain trickling in.
00:50And we could just see a few showers graze the west coast of Scotland.
00:54One or two showers are possible over the rest of Scotland, northern England,
00:57but they'll be very hit and miss, nowhere near as many as recent days.
01:01For most places, it's dry and fine, long sunny spells, light winds,
01:06and feeling pretty warm as well with temperatures higher than recent days.
01:10Up in the south, over 20 degrees, 21, 22 is possible.
01:14It will be cooler as that cloud and showery rain push into Northern Ireland, 15 or 16 in Belfast.
01:19And there'll be more of that rain lingering, I suspect, through the course of Thursday evening,
01:23likely then to drift its way slowly towards parts of northwest England and southern Scotland
01:29as we head into Friday.
01:31Elsewhere, again, many places dry and clear and a little chilly to start with on Friday.
01:36Again, most places will be fine on Friday, but with this cloudier zone further west,
01:41there is, again, the risk of some showers for Northern Ireland, southwest Scotland,
01:45one or two for Wales, possibly, as well, and maybe the Midlands.
01:49Again, they'll be hit and miss, but it could spoil your bank holiday.
01:52For many central and eastern parts, though, it is going to be dry and fine with good spells of sunshine.
01:57A bit more of a breeze picking up coming in from the east,
01:59so some of these eastern coasts will be a little fresh,
02:02particularly if you have any har affecting the coasts of northeast Scotland.
02:06But in the sunny spells, again, most places pretty decent, high teens, low 20s,
02:12maybe up to 23 along the south coast.
02:14Then things get a little more complicated as we go through into the weekend.
02:18A continued risk of some showers in places, more particularly across the south.
02:23Increasing amounts of cloud bringing the risk of showers across southern England
02:27and south Wales on Saturday, and that shower risk increasing across England and Wales during Sunday.
02:33Meanwhile, should hang on to plenty of dry and sunny weather across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:38For more details on that and why there's some uncertainty, watch our 10-day trend video.
02:43You can see that on YouTube and on Facebook.
02:46And make sure you're following the Met Office during this long weekend for the updates.
02:51There is that uncertainty about Saturday and Sunday,
02:53so make sure you keep up to date with the very latest forecast.
