For the first time in 14 years, Catalan President Salvador Illa attended the ceremonies and royal reception hosted by King Felipe VI.

00:00King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presided over Spain's National Day military parade which was marred by heavy rains.
00:09The rains continued throughout Saturday morning and led to a change in part of the planned protocol.
00:15The traditional bowing of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and the presence of Catalan President Salvador Illa also marked the event.
00:24More than 4,000 members of the Spanish Armed Forces took part in the main events that commemorate Spanish legacy around the world.
