00:11Hi everyone, I'm here to tell you that I'm retiring from professional tennis.
00:21The truth is that the last two years have been difficult, especially these last two.
00:27I think I haven't been able to play without limitations.
00:33It's a decision that is obviously difficult, that has taken me a long time to make.
00:41But in this life, everything has a beginning and an end.
00:47And I think it's the right time to put an end to what has been a long career
00:54and much more successful than I could have ever imagined.
01:04But I'm very excited that my last tournament will be the final of the Davis Cup
01:11and representing my country.
01:13I think it's about closing the circle,
01:15because one of my first great joys as a professional tennis player was the final in Seville in 2004.
01:29I feel super, super lucky for all the things I've been able to experience.
01:37I want to thank the entire tennis industry, all the people who make up this sport,
01:42my teammates for so many years, especially my big rivals.
01:50I've spent many hours with them and I've lived many moments that I will remember for the rest of my life.
02:01Talking about my team, it's a little more difficult for me,
02:06because in the end my team has been a very important part of my life.
02:11They are not workers, they are friends.
02:15And they have been by my side in all the moments when I really needed them.
02:20Very bad moments, very good moments, moments when I had to push, moments when I had to let go.
02:26We have lived together so much that it is difficult to explain.
02:36Family is everything to me.
02:39My mother, I think she has made all the sacrifices she had to make so that we always had everything.
02:49My wife, Mary, we have been together for 19 years.

02:57I think she has been my perfect travel companion during all these years of my career.
03:02Coming home and seeing how my son is growing every day has been a strength that has really kept me alive and with the energy necessary to continue.
03:15My sister, I think we have always had an incredible relationship.
03:22My uncle, who is the reason why I started playing tennis.
03:26I think thanks to him I have also been able to overcome many situations that have been difficult in my sports career.
03:37And my father, who I think has been a source of inspiration in every way.
03:45I think he has been an example of effort, of overcoming.
03:51Thank you very much to my father in a very, very special way.
03:56And finally, you, the fans.
04:04I have no way of thanking you for what you have made me feel.
04:09You have given me the energy I have needed at every moment.
04:15Really, everything I have lived has been a dream come true.
