Verona tests AI sensor system to improve traffic congestion and road safety

Currently on trial at Porta Nuova, the system collects and transmits traffic data to an operations centre supported by local servers.

00:31So this project, so implementing the Timo system in RONA,

00:36the objectives are to implement non-invasive and new generation traffic law detection technologies

00:45that allow us to monitor in real time the service condition of individual traffic light intersections.

00:57A great example of how T-MOS works at intersections is its ability to manage complex multi-lane

01:12crossings.

01:13For instance, at a four-lane intersection, T-MOS connects the data from each sensor so

01:21that a vehicle detected by multiple sensors is recognized as one continuous vehicle rather

01:30than being misidentified as separate vehicles by each sensor.

01:37It ensures seamless tracking of vehicles as they move through the intersection, providing

01:45accurate data for managing traffic flow.
