00:00The PNP is worried about the fake receipt scam where the proof of payment is edited or fake,

00:07which is sent by the customer to the seller.

00:10Just like what happened to a woman who received more than Php 2,000 worth of order.

00:27was ordered by a customer via Facebook chat in a restaurant in Marikina City.

00:32According to the owner of the restaurant, the customer was in a hurry to deliver it to a memorial chapel in Makati City.

00:38When the proof of payment was sent, we did not receive anything from our bank account.

00:42When we zoomed in, we found out that the proof of payment was edited.

00:47But the proof of payment is gone.

00:49They told the customer that they did not receive any payment, but it did not reply.

00:55According to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group of PNP-ACG,

00:58this is called a fake receipt scam.

01:02Those behind this scam can file a case of swindling estafa in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

01:11According to the PNP-ACG,

01:13the victims of this scam were able to document online transactions,

01:18the account of the suspect and his contact number.

01:22For the account, they need to find the URL, the link of the Facebook account.

01:28Our investigators need to trace the account.

01:33They need to go to the nearest PNP-ACG office

01:37so that the investigator can assess what we can do.

01:42The PNP-ACG reminded the sellers that it is advisable to have mobile banking

01:47so that they can see the real-time payment of the account before delivering the order to the customer.

01:53The food ordered by the scammer was not wasted.

01:57They just gave it to their staff and street dwellers.

02:01Instead of us having a problem because we were scammed,

02:05of course, that's P2,000.
