Pat McAfee gave out more money than he likely planned during a thrilling Week 6 of “College GameDay.”

Set in Berkeley, California on Saturday, the ESPN show set up their weekly field goal challenge where a random fan attempts to kick a winner — but it’s rare for one to be successful.

This time, though, one student came out $10000 richer.

But at first, it appeared that McAfee, the former NFL punter, would walk away with a full wallet once again.

Daniel, a Cal engineering student, took on the challenge on Saturday morning, and though he previously played soccer in high school and had kicked a football before, he admitted he had not gone for something as far as a 33-yard attempt.

For $75,000, Daniel missed the kick wide right, but it was a far better kick than McAfee and the “GameDay” crew expected.

FOR $75,000

A few were skeptical before the kick due to Daniel’s shoe choice — unlaced, slip-on Vans sneakers.

Yet, something in McAfee wanted to give the college sophomore another try — but with a $100,000 prize and an additional $100,000 going to the show’s already $500,000 donation to victims of Hurricane Helene.

With greater stakes at hand, Daniel followed through with a kick down the center before jumping up and down and running across the field in celebration with McAfee.

It was only the second time this year that a fan has successfully kicked a field goal on College GameDay.

A Texas A&M student previously made the kick in Week 1 for $50,000.

It was the first time the “College GameDay” set has touched down in Berkeley, and it comes before the highly-anticipated matchup between Cal and the Miami Hurricanes at 10:30 p.m. ET.
