00:15:37Ha ha ha.
00:15:38Ha ha ha.
00:15:39Ha ha ha.
00:15:40Whoa, another dinosaur, yeah.
00:15:43Whoa, this is a really cool looking dinosaur.
00:15:46Wow, should we check to see if it's in the book?
00:15:49Let's check.
00:15:50All right.
00:15:50Ha ha.
00:15:51All right, let's see.
00:15:52Oh, well, it's not this dinosaur.
00:15:54We already found that dinosaur.
00:15:56Ooh, is it this dinosaur?
00:16:00No.
00:16:01Okay, we found that one.
00:16:03Let's see, what about this dinosaur?
00:16:07Oh, yeah, it is.
00:16:09Wow, good job.
00:16:11Thanks so much for helping us find this dinosaur.
00:16:14All right, let's check it off.
00:16:16There we go.
00:16:17Wow, that's awesome.
00:16:20Well, what kind of dinosaur is this?
00:16:22This is a Parasaurolophus.
00:16:24Parasaurolophus.
00:16:27Wow, that's a hard name to say.
00:16:29And what's that thing on its head?
00:16:31Is that a horn?
00:16:32It's actually not a horn.
00:16:34It's actually a sinus.
00:16:36A sinus, like it connects to the nose?
00:16:38It connects to its nose.
00:16:40Wow, why do they have that?
00:16:42Well, they use it almost like a trombone.
00:16:45They suck in air and then they blow it out
00:16:47as a really loud, deep sound.
00:16:50Oh, I know what a trombone is.
00:16:52Vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom.
00:16:54Cool.
00:16:55Whoa, and look at its mouth, it's really wide.
00:16:59Yeah, it's so it can hold hundreds of teeth.
00:17:01Oh, really?
00:17:02Like really strong, big, sharp, massive teeth?
00:17:08Well, actually more of a lot of little teeth.
00:17:12Oh, that's cool.
00:17:14What does it eat with its teeth?
00:17:15It eats lots and lots of plants, a lot of plants.
00:17:18Wow, really?
00:17:19And do they then grow in and then stay there forever?
00:17:22Well, no, they're constantly losing their teeth,
00:17:25kind of like little kids do.
00:17:27And then new teeth grow in and they eat more plants.
00:17:29Wow, that is really cool.
00:17:31Thank you so much for teaching us about these two dinosaurs.
00:17:35You're welcome, Blippi.
00:17:36I've got more dinosaur things to do today.
00:17:38All right, see you later.
00:17:40Thank you so much.
00:17:41Wow, that was really nice of her.
00:17:43All right, so we found four dinosaurs,
00:17:46but we need to find five dinosaurs.
00:17:48So there must be one more dinosaur around here.
00:17:51Oh, another dinosaur.
00:17:54Wow, this dinosaur looks so big and furious.
00:18:01All right, let's see if this dinosaur is in our book.
00:18:04All right, it's not that one.
00:18:07Is it this one?
00:18:09Yeah, it's our last dinosaur.
00:18:12Good job.
00:18:13All right, let's check it off.
00:18:17There we go.
00:18:18Whoa, all right.
00:18:21Hey, do you know what kind of dinosaur this is?
00:18:25Yeah, it's a T-Rex, Tyrannosaurus Rex.
00:18:30Rawr, rawr, rawr.
00:18:32Rawr, rawr.
00:18:36So big and fierce, but cute teeny little arms.
00:18:40Whoa.
00:18:42And do you see its teeth?
00:18:43Yeah, they are very big and very sharp.
00:18:47Yeah, and they're actually shaped like a banana.
00:18:51Wow, T-Rexes are so cool because their jaws are so strong.
00:18:56They're actually the most strongest jawed dinosaur
00:18:59that we know of.
00:19:01Wow, and actually, what we think now,
00:19:04the juveniles, the teenagers of T-Rexes
00:19:07actually might've had some feathers.
00:19:09Wow, T-Rexes are so cool.
00:19:14All right, now let's go pick a dinosaur and color it in.
00:19:18This is gonna be fun.
00:19:20Yeah.
00:19:28Whoa.
00:19:30Wow, wasn't that so much fun
00:19:32learning about those five dinosaurs?
00:19:35Wow, they were all so big
00:19:37and it was cool to learn about what they eat.
00:19:39Whoa, and their teeth.
00:19:41Rawr.
00:19:42All right, let's decide which dinosaur we should color.
00:19:47All right, let's see.
00:19:48The Triceratops or one of these two.
00:19:53Huh, let's see.
00:19:55How about, I was supposed to pick my favorite dinosaur
00:20:00out of these five.
00:20:01The T-Rex is pretty cool,
00:20:04but I don't know if I can pick my favorite
00:20:07because they're all so cool.
00:20:09Well, hey, why don't we color the Stegosaurus
00:20:13so then we can color the plates all different colors?
00:20:17Wow.
00:20:18All right, first let's take the green one.
00:20:21Ooh, here you go, Stegosaurus.
00:20:23Ooh, nice green plate.
00:20:26Ooh, how about red?
00:20:28Whoa, there you go.
00:20:29Whoa, this is gonna be a very colorful Stegosaurus.
00:20:34Yeah, I used orange, one of my two favorite colors.
00:20:38Ooh, we'll use my second other favorite color.
00:20:41Yeah, blue.
00:20:42Here we go.
00:20:44Whoa, so colorful.
00:20:46Yeah, do you remember what Stegosaurus eat?
00:20:50Yeah, plants because they're herbivores.
00:20:53How about pink?
00:20:54Hmm, here you go.
00:20:56Yeah, pink.
00:20:58Ooh, and let's do the last plate as purple.
00:21:02Whoa, look at that.
00:21:05Now that is a colorful Stegosaurus.
00:21:08All right, last but not least, a green Scribble, whee.
00:21:13There we go.
00:21:15Oh, hey, I have an idea.
00:21:16Why don't we take green and draw a plant right here?
00:21:20Yeah, like it's eating.
00:21:22Ooh, there you go.
00:21:23It's kind of hard to see.
00:21:25Wow, what a great Stegosaurus.
00:21:29Very colorful.
00:21:30They didn't look like this back then,
00:21:32but it still looks really cool.
00:21:36Whoa, that was so much fun
00:21:39learning about dinosaurs with you.
00:21:42I sure do love dinosaurs.
00:21:44What magnificent creatures they were.
00:21:47Well, this is the end of this video,
00:21:49but if you wanna watch more of my videos,
00:21:52all you have to do is search for my name.
00:21:54Will you spell my name with me?
00:21:56Yeah, B-L-I-P-P-I, Blippi.
00:22:02Good job.
00:22:03All right, well, I'm gonna keep this book right here
00:22:06so then the next person that comes here,
00:22:08they can color one of their favorite dinosaurs.
00:22:11Yeah, all right, see you later.
00:22:13Buh-bye.
00:22:14Buh-bye.
00:22:18Hey, it's me, Blippi,
00:22:19and today we're here at Dinosaur Encounters
00:22:23where there are so many dinosaurs.
00:22:25Whoa, hello.
00:22:30Whoa, check it out.
00:22:31It's a Velociraptor.
00:22:33Whoa, are you a friendly Velociraptor?
00:22:38Whoa, that's so cool.
00:22:40Whoa, are you a friendly Velociraptor?
00:22:44Aw, it's really friendly.
00:22:46And what's your name?
00:22:49Pumpkin?
00:22:50Aw, that's a great name.
00:22:52Well, it's nice to meet you, Pumpkin.
00:22:53You know, Pumpkin,
00:22:54we've been meeting a lot of dinosaurs today.
00:22:57Do you think you could show me and us
00:22:59how to walk like a raptor?
00:23:01Okay, let's do it.
00:23:07Whoa, check it out.
00:23:10Whoa, did you see that?
00:23:13Yeah, the raptor walks up on two legs instead of four,
00:23:18kind of like this.
00:23:20Can you walk like a raptor with us?
00:23:22Okay, here we go.
00:23:33Whoa, that was great.
00:23:34Thank you, Pumpkin.
00:23:36Oh, and Pumpkin, I also wanted to ask,
00:23:38how does a Velociraptor roar?
00:23:45Whoa, that was so loud.
00:23:48Great roar.
00:23:49Ooh, can you roar like Pumpkin?
00:23:52Okay, on the count of three.
00:23:54Are you ready?
00:23:55One, two, three, roar.
00:24:03Whoa, Pumpkin, that was a really big roar.
00:24:07Oh, and speaking of big roars,
00:24:09have you seen a T-Rex around here anywhere?
00:24:13Oh, over there?
00:24:15Okay, let's go see if we can find one.
00:24:17Bye, Pumpkin.
00:24:20Wait a minute.
00:24:24Whoa, check it out.
00:24:26I found a baby dinosaur that was all alone.
00:24:29Oh, what's your name, baby dinosaur?
00:24:33Whoa, its name is Speckles.
00:24:36Oh, that's a really great name.
00:24:38But why were you all alone?
00:24:40I didn't see any grownup dinosaurs taking care of you.
00:24:46Oh no, you're lost?
00:24:48Aw, that's kind of sad,
00:24:50but luckily, Flippy's here to save the day.
00:24:52Yeah, we can help find Speckles' daycare.
00:24:55Yeah, take it back to the grownup dinosaur
00:24:57that was taking care of you.
00:24:59Does that sound good?
00:25:01Whoa, whoa, okay, let's go help Speckles.
00:25:06Come on.
00:25:12Whoa, whoa, yeah.
00:25:17We did it, we found the daycare
00:25:19and the grownup dinosaur taking care of Speckles.
00:25:22Oh, look, it's Speckles.
00:25:25Oh, but shh, looks like Speckles is taking a nap.
00:25:28Aw, that's a pretty cute dinosaur.
00:25:31Well, thank you for taking care of Speckles.
00:25:34Oh, was there something you wanted to tell me?
00:25:39Aw, that's so great.
00:25:42Yeah, they said that we can go inside
00:25:44and play at the daycare with all the other baby dinosaurs.
00:25:50Whoa, I wonder what kinds we'll find.
00:25:53Woo-hoo.
00:26:03Whoa, check it out.
00:26:05There are dinosaurs here.
00:26:07It looks like someone's pulling a train along
00:26:10and there's a dinosaur in an orange car,
00:26:13a blue one, and a red car seat.
00:26:17Whoa, no way, look.
00:26:20This one's playing with a little toy truck.
00:26:22It's a garbage truck.
00:26:25Yeah, I just love a garbage truck.
00:26:31Yeah, picking up all the trash and recycling.
00:26:34Whoa, and look at this.
00:26:37It's a little school bus.
00:26:42The wheels on the bus go rar, rar, rar.
00:26:46That's silly.
00:26:47Whoa, and look.
00:26:50There's a really bumpy, spiky dinosaur
00:26:54and it looks like it's pulling the train along
00:26:55with its tail.
00:26:58Oh, hey, do you know what kind of dinosaur this is?
00:27:03I'll give you a hint.
00:27:04It's spiky with a tail like a hammer.
00:27:09Yeah, that's right.
00:27:10It's a baby ankylosaurus.
00:27:12Aw, it's so cute.
00:27:15Let's go meet some new dinosaurs.
00:27:19Whoa, look, they're playing on a seesaw or a teeter-totter.
00:27:28Here, I'll give you a push.
00:27:30Whoa, look at them go.
00:27:33And these dinosaurs, they're baby triceratops.
00:27:37Aw, they're having a lot of fun playing
00:27:39and they're so stylish.
00:27:41They're wearing bow ties.
00:27:43Well, wait a minute, two tied triceratops
00:27:49on a teeter-totter.
00:27:51Whoa, that is a lot of T's.
00:27:55Well, I'll see you later, triceratops.
00:27:57Here we go.
00:27:59Rar.
00:28:02Whoa, do you see what it is?
00:28:04It's a giant T-Rex mouth.
00:28:08Yeah, and this one right here sure looks really bouncy.
00:28:11Whoa.
00:28:14And it looks like you can bounce and slide
00:28:17all the way to the top and all the way to the bottom.
00:28:21See you soon.
00:28:21Here we go.
00:28:24Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:28:32One, two, three, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:28:43That was one bouncy T-Rex.
00:28:46Hey, wait a minute.
00:28:48You know what sound a T-Rex makes?
00:28:51Hmm.
00:28:53Yeah, that's right.
00:28:54A T-Rex makes a really big, really loud roar.
00:29:00Will you roar like a T-Rex with me?
00:29:03Okay, let's do it.
00:29:05Are you ready?
00:29:06Set, roar.
00:29:09Roar, roar, roar, roar, roar.
00:29:17Roar.
00:29:19Well, that was pretty fun roaring like a T-Rex.
00:29:22But wait a minute.
00:29:24This right here is a T-Rex, but it's a bouncy T-Rex.
00:29:29I wanna find a real T-Rex.
00:29:32I just know if we keep exploring,
00:29:33we definitely can find one.
00:29:35Woohoo.
00:29:38Whoa, I can't wait to learn about dinosaurs
00:29:41and be a paleontologist.
00:29:44And do you know, dinosaurs like to eat all kinds of things.
00:29:47Some are carnivores.
00:29:50Ooh, that means they like to eat meat.
00:29:53And other dinosaurs are herbivores.
00:29:56Ooh, and that means they like to eat plants and vegetables.
00:30:00I found some really big dinosaurs that are all herbivores
00:30:03because they love those green veggies.
00:30:07Come on.
00:30:07Whoa, whoa, look at this dinosaur.
00:30:15It's so big.
00:30:16Hello.
00:30:20This dinosaur is called a stegosaurus.
00:30:24Wow.
00:30:26And this is definitely one big dinosaur.
00:30:30It's really big, but don't worry, it's an herbivore.
00:30:34Yeah, it loves to eat plants and veggies.
00:30:38See, it looks nice.
00:30:39Aw, hello.
00:30:42Oh, are you having a good day today?
00:30:45Aw, it looks like he is.
00:30:48Oh, and did you know something?
00:30:50Stegosauruses have plates on their back.
00:30:53Yeah, just like this.
00:30:55See, whoa, it kind of looks like a leaf or a triangle.
00:31:02One, two, three, three sides on a triangle.
00:31:08These plates are really important
00:31:10because they protect the stegosaurus,
00:31:12but also they help to regulate its temperature.
00:31:16Basically, it keeps it nice and cool when it's hot out
00:31:20and nice and warm when it's cool.
00:31:23Aw, you are so cute.
00:31:25Well, let's see how long this stegosaurus is.
00:31:30It's pretty long.
00:31:33Whoa, it's huge.
00:31:35It's huge.
00:31:37Oh, and look, there's another one.
00:31:40Come on.
00:31:43Oh, no way.
00:31:45It's a cute little baby stegosaurus.
00:31:48That stegosaurus from earlier was a mama.
00:31:51Aw, hello, little baby.
00:31:53Aw, this is such a cute little baby stegosaurus.
00:31:58Yeah, these stegosauruses are really nice.
00:32:01And did you know their brains
00:32:03were the size of a ping pong ball?
00:32:05Whoa, that's pretty small.
00:32:08Yeah, us humans, we have a brain
00:32:11the size of 10 tennis balls.
00:32:14Whoa.
00:32:19That's a lot.
00:32:22Well, you are one cute baby dinosaur.
00:32:25I'll see you later, okay?
00:32:26I'm gonna go say hi to some of your friends.
00:32:28Bye-bye.
00:32:29Let's go.
00:32:34Maybe we can feed a dinosaur.
00:32:35Come on.
00:32:45Whoa, look at these dinosaurs.
00:32:51Wow, check it out.
00:32:55Whoa, I can't believe we're so close to actual dinosaurs.
00:33:00Oh, hello there.
00:33:02Yeah, these dinosaurs are called pachycephalosaurus.
00:33:07Whoa, hello.
00:33:09Would you like a little snack?
00:33:11Okay, here we go.
00:33:16Oh, look, he took it.
00:33:19Aw, that's very sweet.
00:33:21Yeah, a pachycephalosaurus is also an herbivore.
00:33:26See, it's munching on some leaves.
00:33:29Yeah, it also has a really big head.
00:33:33Look.
00:33:34Whoa, it's so smooth.
00:33:37Yeah, it has some spikes on it,
00:33:39but the pachycephalosaurus has this nice, smooth head
00:33:43that's really, really strong.
00:33:45Yeah, it's strong so that it can protect it,
00:33:48but also for fashion.
00:33:50Woo-hoo.
00:33:52Aw, you are so sweet.
00:33:55Oh, excuse me.
00:33:56Looks like this dinosaur has a friend.
00:33:59Aw, well, see you soon.
00:34:02I think I see another dinosaur.
00:34:05And this next dinosaur, I'm sure you'll know.
00:34:08I'll give you a hint.
00:34:10It has horns.
00:34:12Come on.
00:34:19Whoa, check it out.
00:34:20It's another kind of herbivore.
00:34:22This dinosaur is called a triceratops.
00:34:25Yeah, and these dinosaurs are super easy to spot
00:34:28because they have one, two, three horns on their head.
00:34:34You see, like this.
00:34:38Whoa, yeah, and this is a mommy triceratops,
00:34:42and it's here with the baby triceratops.
00:34:46Aw, it's so cute.
00:34:47And look, it even has a beak.
00:34:50Yeah, and the three horns of a triceratops
00:34:53are very important because they use them for protection,
00:34:56but also to get the attention of other triceratops.
00:35:00You and I, yeah, we might wave like this.
00:35:03Hello, hi there, hello.
00:35:07But a triceratops would probably use its horns like this.
00:35:11Hello, hello, whoa.
00:35:15Whoa, I'm a little bit dizzy
00:35:17after all that triceratops waving.
00:35:20Wait a minute, do you hear that?
00:35:24It's another dinosaur, come on.
00:35:31We did it, it's the T-Rex dinosaur.
00:35:35Oh, I think it's friendly.
00:35:37Let's go say hello.
00:35:39Hello, Mr. T-Rex.
00:35:43Whoa, he is friendly, that's so great.
00:35:48How are you today?
00:35:50Awesome.
00:35:53Hey, did you know that T-Rex dinosaurs
00:35:56are really, really big?
00:35:58Yeah, they can grow over 40 feet long.
00:36:03Whoa, that is really long.
00:36:05And they have giant teeth the size of bananas.
00:36:09You know, that's because a T-Rex is a carnivore,
00:36:13which means instead of being an herbivore, they eat meat.
00:36:17Yeah, well, it was nice to meet you.
00:36:23Oh, thanks.
00:36:25See you soon, Mr. T-Rex, bye-bye.
00:36:30Whoa, that was awesome.
00:36:32I had so much fun with you today.
00:36:34Yeah, we found the T-Rex
00:36:36and we were really great paleontologists.
00:36:39We learned so many things
00:36:41and saw an awful lot of dinosaurs.
00:36:44Well, that's the end of this video.
00:36:46But if you want to watch more of my videos,
00:36:48all you have to do is search for my name.
00:36:50Hey, can you spell my name with me?
00:36:53Okay, here we go, ready?
00:36:57B-L-I-P-P-I, Blippi, good job.
00:37:02Well, I'll see you soon, bye-bye.
00:37:12Hey, it's me, Blippi, and look at where we're at.
00:37:16Today, we're at the Aquarium of Boise in Boise, Idaho.
00:37:20And this aquarium has a lot of cute animals.
00:37:24Yeah, do you like animals?
00:37:26Yeah, I love animals too.
00:37:28And today, you and I can learn about some animals.
00:37:31Let's go.
00:37:33Whoa, and look in here.
00:37:35Whoa, looks like we have some turtles.
00:37:39Oh, hello, turtle, look at it.
00:37:42Whoa, oh, come over here.
00:37:44See this one?
00:37:45Yeah, it's pretty big.
00:37:47Actually, they're gonna get way bigger.
00:37:50Yeah, and these are actually soft-shelled turtles.
00:37:53You know how most of the time,
00:37:55turtles, their shells are really, really hard?
00:37:58Yeah, these, their shells are soft.
00:38:01Interesting, did you see how long its neck was?
00:38:04Whoa, whoa, check it out, a ball python.
00:38:09Whoa, it's so colorful.
00:38:11Yeah, it looks like the color yellow.
00:38:15Yeah, like the sun.
00:38:16Whoa, look at him just hanging out on that log.
00:38:19Hello, and did you see its eyes?
00:38:22Yeah, they look reddish.
00:38:25Super cool.
00:38:27Snakes are awesome.
00:38:30Whoa, and look down here.
00:38:31Whoa, this is a way bigger snake.
00:38:35Whoa, I know what kind of snake this is.
00:38:38This is a Colombian red-tailed boa.
00:38:41Whoa, look at him just hanging out on the soil.
00:38:46Yeah, he kind of looks like the soil color.
00:38:49Yeah, brown and dark brown and black and tan.
00:38:53He does blend in pretty well.
00:38:55Whoa, whoa, hey, oh, there's someone right here.
00:39:03Oh, hey, who are you?
00:39:05I'm Penny, who are you?
00:39:07I'm Blippi.
00:39:08It's nice to meet you, Blippi.
00:39:09Nice to meet you.
00:39:10Do you work here?
00:39:11I do work here.
00:39:13Really, what do you do?
00:39:14I'm the lead reptile handler here.
00:39:16Wow, that's really cool.
00:39:18I really like reptiles.
00:39:19Me too.
00:39:20There's one right here.
00:39:22This is my friend, Sheila.
00:39:23Ooh, really, Sheila?
00:39:25Whoa, what kind of reptile is she?
00:39:26Sheila is a bearded dragon.
00:39:28Ooh, a bearded dragon.
00:39:30Yeah, I've seen one of those before.
00:39:32Have you ever pet a bearded dragon before?
00:39:35I don't know.
00:39:36Can I pet it?
00:39:37Yes, she looks super friendly.
00:39:39Okay, all right.
00:39:40Hey, Sheila.
00:39:43All right.
00:39:44So this is my friend, Sheila.
00:39:46Okay, we go just like this?
00:39:48Yep, just like that.
00:39:50Nice and gentle.
00:39:50Wow, kind of pokey, but not really.
00:39:54I mean, kind of soft though.
00:39:56Right, so her scales are kind of pokey, kind of soft.
00:39:59They're made of the same stuff
00:40:00that makes your fingernails called keratin.
00:40:02Keratin, cool.
00:40:06Look at her.
00:40:08So you'll notice she has this really cute, big beard.
00:40:12That's where she gets her name.
00:40:13Oh, bearded dragon.
00:40:15That makes sense.
00:40:17And what does she eat?
00:40:18She's an omnivore.
00:40:19So that means she eats a lot of different things.
00:40:22She eats fruits, vegetables, and insects.
00:40:24Oh, wow, cool.
00:40:26And where does it come from?
00:40:28She comes from Australia.
00:40:29Wow, cool.
00:40:31Wow, what a really cool animal.
00:40:33Well, when was the last time she ate?
00:40:36Ooh, I don't know.
00:40:37She might be hungry.
00:40:38Do you want to try to offer her a snack?
00:40:39Oh, I would love to.
00:40:41Hopefully she's hungry.
00:40:42Follow me.
00:40:45All right.
00:40:46All right, here you go, Sheila.
00:40:49All right.
00:40:50Wow, I'm so curious to see if she's hungry.
00:40:53Wow, what do we have?
00:40:55So today we're gonna be feeding Sheila some mealworms.
00:40:58Check it out, some mealworms.
00:41:01Those look yummy, if you're Sheila.
00:41:04All right, let's see if she's hungry.
00:41:05All right, I'm gonna give them to you.
00:41:07Oh, okay.
00:41:08There you go.
00:41:09All right, so just put all three right in front of her?
00:41:11You can put all three or you can put them in a line
00:41:13and she will chase after them.
00:41:15There we go.
00:41:16Here you go, mealworm.
00:41:19There we go.
00:41:20The wigglier, the better.
00:41:21All right, let's see if she's hungry.
00:41:25Are you hungry, Sheila?
00:41:26Whoa.
00:41:27So how old is Sheila?
00:41:29Sheila is four.
00:41:30Whoa.
00:41:31And she's really good at sitting still.
00:41:33Whoa, yeah.
00:41:34I mean, she hasn't moved one bit for a little bit.
00:41:37She's just looking around the environment.
00:41:40Yeah, maybe she'll see the mealworm soon.
00:41:43Whoa.
00:41:44We'll see.
00:41:45Whoa, what else is cool about Sheila?
00:41:48So Sheila loves these bugs.
00:41:50Usually if we can get her to run for them,
00:41:52that would be wonderful.
00:41:54She has a big, fat, sticky tongue
00:41:56that she likes to use to eat those bugs.
00:41:58Is it long or short?
00:41:59It's not very long.
00:42:00It's really short and stubby.
00:42:01It kind of stays in her mouth.
00:42:02Oh, cool.
00:42:05Maybe she's not hungry.
00:42:06Maybe not.
00:42:07Sometimes, sometimes that happens.
00:42:09You get food and you're not hungry.
00:42:10Yeah, exactly.
00:42:12And then what are her claws for?
00:42:14Her claws she uses for digging.
00:42:16Oh, digging.
00:42:16Yeah.
00:42:17What's she digging for?
00:42:18So she would use her claws to dig a burrow
00:42:21for her to live in or for her to lay her eggs.
00:42:23Whoa, that's really cool.
00:42:25Yeah.
00:42:26Whoa.
00:42:26Well, thank you so much for letting us try to feed Sheila.
00:42:30We tried.
00:42:31Yeah.
00:42:32All right, I have another friend
00:42:34that I'd like to show you.
00:42:35Really?
00:42:36I'm gonna put Sheila away first though.
00:42:37So you have fun exploring.
00:42:38Okay, Blippi?
00:42:39All right, I'll be back in a bit.
00:42:40Let's keep exploring.
00:42:41Whoa, check it out.
00:42:44It's a giant spider.
00:42:47Whoa.
00:42:47This is my friend Raj.
00:42:49She's a tarantula.
00:42:50Oh, hey Raj.
00:42:51Whoa, and this is a tarantula.
00:42:54What kind of tarantula?
00:42:55She is a rose hair tarantula.
00:42:57Rose hair.
00:42:58And where's she from?
00:42:59So she's from South America, from Chile.
00:43:01Oh, cool.
00:43:04She is very big.
00:43:05I'm so used to spiders that are really small.
00:43:08She is a lot bigger than house spiders,
00:43:10but she also moves a lot slower.
00:43:11You notice?
00:43:12Yeah, she is moving slower,
00:43:14but she still has eight legs, right?
00:43:16She does.
00:43:17She has eight legs, two spinnerets,
00:43:19and then her two helping hands up front.
00:43:22Whoa, cool.
00:43:24And does she have really sticky feet?
00:43:26She doesn't.
00:43:27She actually doesn't even have feet.
00:43:28They're called paws.
00:43:29Oh, paws.
00:43:30Yeah.
00:43:31Just like kitties and dogs.
00:43:32Whoa.
00:43:34So her paws are not sticky.
00:43:35Okay.
00:43:35So spiders can walk upside down,
00:43:36but it's because of two special hooks
00:43:39that they have on each foot or paw.
00:43:42Oh, like this?
00:43:42That helps them to hold on.
00:43:44Whoa, look, I'm a spider.
00:43:46Whoa, and does she spin a web?
00:43:48She does.
00:43:49So you'll notice she's using her hooks
00:43:51to hold on right now while I tip her.
00:43:53Her spinnerets that she uses to spin webs are on the back.
00:43:57Those two little black appendages
00:43:59that look kind of like fingers.
00:44:00Uh-huh.
00:44:01Oh, and what does she eat?
00:44:03She eats bugs.
00:44:04Bugs?
00:44:05Lots of bugs.
00:44:06She likes crickets and cockroaches.
00:44:07Whoa.
00:44:09Wow, she is so cool.
00:44:11And how old is she?
00:44:12Raj is eight years old.
00:44:14Eight?
00:44:15She's an adult female.
00:44:16Wow, that is really old.
00:44:19That's not as old as they get though.
00:44:20Believe it or not,
00:44:21they live to be over 20 years old.
00:44:24Wow, that is old.
00:44:25Yeah.
00:44:26Whoa.
00:44:27Well, that is really cool.
00:44:29And this is a really cool spider.
00:44:32Thank you so much for showing me, Raj.
00:44:34And thanks for being so kind to my friends.
00:44:36Yeah.
00:44:37See you later, Raj.
00:44:39I'm gonna keep exploring.
00:44:40All right, have fun.
00:44:41See ya.
00:44:43Whoa, check it out.
00:44:45A crested gecko.
00:44:47Whoa, they're so cool.
00:44:49And look.
00:44:50Yeah, it's just stuck to the side of the glass.
00:44:52Just hanging out.
00:44:53Hey, wait a second.
00:44:55A crested gecko.
00:44:56Yeah, that's Mika's favorite reptile.
00:44:59So cool.
00:45:00Hello.
00:45:03Whoa, cool.
00:45:05Look, a snake.
00:45:07He's actually not a snake.
00:45:09He's a legless lizard.
00:45:11Really?
00:45:12This isn't a snake?
00:45:13No, he kind of looks like a snake, huh?
00:45:15Yeah, he does.
00:45:16He doesn't even have legs.
00:45:17No, no legs.
00:45:19That's why they call it a legless lizard.
00:45:22Whoa, what's his name?
00:45:23His name is Tom Riddle.
00:45:24Oh, hello, Tom Riddle.
00:45:26I'm Lippy.
00:45:28He has a couple of features
00:45:29that separate him from snakes.
00:45:31Oh, what are they?
00:45:32So the first one is that he has eyelids.
00:45:34He can blink like you and I.
00:45:36Yeah.
00:45:37Snakes don't have eyelids.
00:45:38They don't blink.
00:45:38Nope, they don't have eyelids.
00:45:39He has these little holes behind his head.
00:45:41Those are actually his ears.
00:45:43Oh.
00:45:43Snakes don't have those either.
00:45:45Okay, that makes sense.
00:45:46Yeah.
00:45:47What about that line on the bottom?
00:45:49He has that line down his body
00:45:51because his bones are really rigid
00:45:53and he needs it to be able to breathe
00:45:55and swallow his food.
00:45:56Oh, so that expands?
00:45:58Yeah, because he's not as flexible as a snake.
00:46:00Okay.
00:46:01Whoa.
00:46:02And then is this his whole body like a snake?
00:46:05So Tom Riddle, being a lizard,
00:46:08his body actually ends right here.
00:46:10Oh, yeah.
00:46:11Two thirds of his body are just tail.
00:46:13Whoa, that's crazy.
00:46:14But a snake, their body goes all the way
00:46:17almost to the very end, right?
00:46:19Yep, that's right, it does.
00:46:21Whoa, and what does Tom Riddle like to eat?
00:46:23Tom Riddle likes to eat insects
00:46:26and he'll even eat baby animals.
00:46:29Really?
00:46:30Yeah, like small mice and things like that,
00:46:32but mostly he loves worms and snails.
00:46:34Whoa, okay.
00:46:35And where could you find Tom Riddle in the wild?
00:46:39In the wild, you could find him in South and Central Europe.
00:46:42So he'd be in and around Spain and Portugal
00:46:44and parts of Northern Italy.
00:46:45Okay, whoa.
00:46:47He's such a cool animal.
00:46:48May I touch him?
00:46:49You definitely can.
00:46:51Okay, whoa.
00:46:52He definitely kind of feels like a snake.
00:46:55Yeah, he does.
00:46:56But his scales are a little more hard
00:46:57and they lay over each other like armor.
00:47:00Not quite as flexible as a snake's scales.
00:47:02Wow, he's really smooth.
00:47:05Very smooth and glassy, huh?
00:47:07Yeah.
00:47:08That's another name for this guy,
00:47:09he's a glass lizard.
00:47:10Whoa, Tom Riddle is so cool.
00:47:14Thank you so much for letting me meet
00:47:16another one of your friends.
00:47:18Absolutely.
00:47:19Cool.
00:47:20Whoa, oh, hello.
00:47:23Check it out, it looks like a chameleon.
00:47:26He is a chameleon.
00:47:27This is my friend Tarzan
00:47:28and he's a panther chameleon.
00:47:30Oh, hey Tarzan.
00:47:32Whoa, a panther chameleon.
00:47:34Whoa, and he's very bright green.
00:47:36Does he change colors?
00:47:38He is bright green right now.
00:47:39He does change colors.
00:47:41Wow.
00:47:42So chameleons change colors
00:47:43to communicate with each other.
00:47:44Oh, that's really cool.
00:47:46So they change colors to let others,
00:47:48say chameleons, know something?
00:47:50Yes, or other animals like a big scary predator.
00:47:53They may turn black and red to say,
00:47:55I'm scary, don't mess with me.
00:47:56Oh, cool.
00:47:58Ooh, and he loves to crawl, huh?
00:48:00It looks like he grabs onto you
00:48:02with his weird looking hands.
00:48:04He does.
00:48:05Do you wanna see what that feels like?
00:48:07Sure.
00:48:08All right, he's very delicate,
00:48:09so be careful.
00:48:10Okay.
00:48:11Oh, hey Tarzan.
00:48:13Hey, how are you?
00:48:16Whoa, check it out.
00:48:18Holding a chameleon.
00:48:20So as he's walking,
00:48:22you'll notice on his feet,
00:48:23he has five toes,
00:48:25just like we do,
00:48:26but they're split,
00:48:27three and two.
00:48:28Okay.
00:48:29That's how he holds onto your fingers
00:48:31and to the vines in the canopy.
00:48:32Whoa, that's really cool.
00:48:35It looks like his eyes are pointing different directions.
00:48:39They do, yeah.
00:48:40So that's a special kind of vision
00:48:41called stereoscopic vision.
00:48:44And that means he has two independent visual fields.
00:48:47Whoa.
00:48:48So he could see that way and that way
00:48:51all at the same time?
00:48:52All at the same time.
00:48:53Whoa, cool.
00:48:54Look at his tail.
00:48:55It looks all curly.
00:48:56Why is that?
00:48:57His tail is super curly
00:48:59and it has another special name.
00:49:00It's called a prehensile tail.
00:49:03Whoa.
00:49:04He uses it like a safety line for holding on.
00:49:07Okay.
00:49:07Whoa, so he can like wrap it around a tree branch
00:49:10and hold on?
00:49:11Exactly.
00:49:12And that comes in handy when he's trying to eat
00:49:14and he has to use a secret weapon
00:49:17in order to catch his bugs.
00:49:18Really?
00:49:19Okay, so he loves to eat bugs?
00:49:21He does.
00:49:23What's the secret weapon?
00:49:24His secret weapon is a long, sticky tongue.
00:49:27Oh, cool.
00:49:28Do you think he's hungry?
00:49:29He might be.
00:49:30Let's find out.
00:49:31All right, Tarzan.
00:49:33Flippy, did you know that a chameleon's tongue
00:49:34is as long as its body?
00:49:36Really?
00:49:37I didn't know that.
00:49:38That's really long.
00:49:39His tongue is really long.
00:49:40Whoa.
00:49:41All right, let's see if he's hungry.
00:49:44Let's see.
00:49:45Tarzan is a little older,
00:49:46so his eyes are not as good as they used to be.
00:49:49Okay.
00:49:49So once he sees the bugs,
00:49:51let's see if we can get him to take it.
00:49:53Yeah.
00:49:56Whoa, that was awesome.
00:49:59Isn't that exciting?
00:50:00Yeah, it is a long, sticky tongue.
00:50:03Super long and sticky.
00:50:04Whoa, was that yummy, Tarzan?
00:50:07Whoa.
00:50:08Yeah, that was so cool.
00:50:09And speaking of cool,
00:50:10all of your animal friends are so cool.
00:50:13Thank you so much for letting me meet them.
00:50:15Thank you for coming to say hi today
00:50:17and helping me feed some of the animals.
00:50:19Yeah, no problem.

00:54:25Yeah, and raptors go really fast, just like an ATV.

00:54:49Whoa, and look at this dinosaur here.

00:56:25And they have really big teeth.
00:56:30Do you see all the teeth?
00:56:32Yeah, allosaurus teeth, they fall out new teeth
00:56:40whenever they get a little bit too old and worn out.
00:56:43Well, this is a really cool dinosaur.
00:56:46It was nice to meet you, allosaurus.

00:57:12But these aren't any kind of dinosaur.
00:57:15These are velociraptors.

00:57:47Whoa, and do you see?
00:57:49Look, they have really, really big teeth.
00:57:53That's because velociraptors are carnivores,

00:57:59but they certainly would like a hamburger.
