03:38I'm going to give you three guesses
03:40to what color the frog in my hand is.
03:42You ready?

03:46Is it orange, one of my two favorite colors?

03:50What color do you think the frog is?

03:58But the frog that I want to show you

04:10It looks just like a strawberry.
04:12And that's how it gets its name.
04:15It's a strawberry poison frog.

04:19This frog can't hurt me unless I eat it,
04:21which I definitely won't.
04:23And it actually has a warning
04:25so it doesn't get eaten by mistake.
04:27That's why it's so colorful.
04:29And if you hear all of those sounds
04:31around us right now,
04:33that's all this frog's little friends
04:35calling it to come and play.
04:37How cool is that?

05:12It's a strawberry poison frog.

05:18it's important to not pick up wildlife
05:20if you don't know what species it is.
05:22Mark is a wildlife expert
05:24and that's why he can pick them up safely.

05:28this frog is really, really small.
05:30I've had to shrink all the way down.
05:32Is it a baby?
05:34Good question, Blippi.
05:36This is not a baby frog.
05:38This frog is actually fully grown
05:41and it eats super tiny little flies
05:43for a meal.
05:45Being this size, you couldn't eat a big fly
05:47you'd have to eat little flies
05:49so that's what it does.
05:51It hops around this forest floor
05:53looking for tiny little meals
05:55and it also likes to play with its friends.
05:57Oh, wow, that's so cool!
05:59And they're so cute.

07:59And this is one of my favorite ways

08:03in a small little container
08:05so we can see them swimming around.
08:07Now, tadpoles are not yet
08:09baby frogs.
08:11They're actually the stage
08:13before a frog is a baby.
08:15Whoa, no way.
08:17I know. It's wild.
08:19And look at this.
08:21These are different types of tadpoles.
08:23Some of them are little.
08:25Some of them are medium.
08:27And some of them actually
08:29have little legs.
08:31You see those with the little legs?
08:33Those are almost baby frogs.
08:35But all
08:37of these tadpoles are the same
08:39type of frog.
08:41Really?
08:43I know. It can be really confusing.
08:45But yes, every single one of these tadpoles
08:47will grow up into the frog
08:50that I'm about to show you
08:52that lives just right up there
08:54in those trees.
08:56Look at their little tails wiggle.
08:58Whoa, that's so cool.
09:00Whoa, hey, let's swim
09:02like a tadpole.
09:04So before frogs
09:06can hop and climb,
09:08they can actually swim.
09:10Whoa. Oh, but hey, Mark,
09:12I notice all these tadpoles are brown.
09:14Does that mean they'll turn into brown frogs?
09:16That is a great question, Blippi.
09:19These tadpoles will completely change color
09:21when they turn into frogs.
09:23And I think it's about time
09:25that we let these little tadpoles back into the pond
09:27and I'll take you over to that tree
09:29right there to show you the grown-up version
09:31in all its beautiful colorations.

10:24everybody watching has seen
10:26at least a picture of this frog before.
10:28I love seeing one up close.

10:32I like the real thing the best.
10:34Look at the eyes. You can see
10:36why this frog gets its name.
10:38The red-eyed leaf frog.
10:40Whoa, and look at its feet.
10:42They're the color orange.
10:44One of my favorite colors.
10:46Let's take a closer look.

10:54It has better balance
10:56than me. It's not falling at all.
10:58Yeah, the pads,
11:00those orange feet,
11:02are super sticky.
11:04That's what they use to climb all the way
11:06up into the trees where they live.
11:10Look at this. Come in really close.
11:12It's doing something really cool right now.
11:14Look at that. You see its eyelid
11:16right there?
11:18It can actually see through
11:20its eyelids, almost like wearing
11:22sunglasses to protect its eyes
11:24from the sun. Oh yeah!
11:26Too cool for school!

11:34These frogs are most active at night.
11:36Oftentimes when you see them during the day,
11:38they're either sleeping or they're trying
11:40to get to a place that has more shade.
11:42And that's exactly
11:44where we found this frog.
11:46Are you going to take a nap?
11:48I like naps too. Don't worry.
11:50We're going to put this frog right back where we found it
11:52so it can keep napping. Aww, sleepy frog.
11:54But I want to show you my favorite
11:56thing about the red-eyed leaf frog.

12:06They're blue!

12:54It really does have all the colors.
12:56And that's why the red-eyed leaf frog
12:58is one of the most famous frogs in the world.
