Aufgrund eines fatalen Fehlers bei einer Mission in Japan wird die 17-jährige Attentäterin 13 im Actionthriller Codename 13 zur Disziplinarstrafe nach Indonesien versetzt. Hier in den Slums von Jakarta freundet sie sich unerwartet mit dem 11-jährigen Monji an, der seine Mutter an ein Verbrechersyndikat verloren hat. Das hat es nun auch auf ihn angesetzt und 13 ist fest entschlossen, ihn mit aller Macht zu retten - selbst wenn sie sich dazu ihrem Mentor entgegenstellen muss.
