00:00The United Nations estimates that 1.5 million Muslims have been or are still in detention

00:24facilities across China's northwest. In 2014, China launched the Strike Hard campaign

00:33in Xinjiang to stamp out what it called violent separatism and religious extremism among Muslims

00:40here. But details have been leaking out that large numbers of Muslims have suffered brutal

00:47mistreatment, beatings, torture, rape, and many thousands sentenced to long periods in

00:54jail or other detention facilities.

00:57We identified 348 locations which we believe are part of the current detention program.
