00:09The mega-cleaning and community service program, held at 649 locations,
00:15involved students, fire and rescue department personnel,
00:19community leaders and local authorities staff.
00:22The Housing and Local Government Ministry said it is confident
00:26that the program will break three records in the Malaysia Book of Records,
00:30the largest participation, the biggest amount of rubbish collection
00:35and the longest duration.
00:56The Malaysia Clean-up Day program was held in conjunction with the World Clean-up Day.
01:23In Ipoh, about 700 volunteers took part in the program at Taman Sri Raya.
01:30Apart from cleaning drains, roads and other infrastructure,
01:33the participants also promoted environment conservation initiatives
01:37including e-waste segregation and e-waste collection.
01:41The Perak government said they expect the program to help inculcate a culture
01:46where Malaysians make public cleanliness their priority and a way of life.
