00:00Today we have come with the Indira Ekadashi Vratkatha of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month.
00:06This Ekadashi comes in Pitra Paksha, so it is also called Pitra Ekadashi.
00:12So let's start Indira Ekadashi Vratkatha.
00:16Dharmaraj Yudhishthir said that what is the name of the Ekadashi of Ashwin Krishna Paksha,
00:23what is its method and result, so you please tell.
00:27Shri Krishna said that the name of this Ekadashi is Indira Ekadashi.
00:32This Ekadashi is the destroyer of sins and is the one who gives salvation to the ancestors.
00:39O King, listen to its story carefully.
00:42Just by listening to it, you get the result of Vajpayee Yagya.
00:46In the first Satyug, in the city of Mahishmati, a great king named Indrasen,
00:52used to rule by following his subjects with money.
00:57That king was a great devotee of Vishnu, rich in sons, grandsons and wealth.
01:03One day when the king was sitting happily in his court,
01:07Devarshi Narad came down from the sky and came to his court.
01:11The king joined his hands and stood up as soon as he saw him,
01:14and gave the asana and argya in a ritual way.
01:17Sitting happily, the monk asked the king,
01:20O King, are your seven organs skillful?
01:24Your intellect is in dharma and your mind is in vishnu bhakti.
01:28Hearing this from Devarshi Narad, the king said,
01:32O Devarshi, by your grace, everything is fine in my kingdom,
01:36and my Yagya and other rituals are being performed.
01:39You kindly tell me the reason for your arrival.
01:42Then the sage said, O King, listen to my words which will surprise you.
01:48Once I went from Brahmlok to Yamlok.
01:51There, being reverently worshipped by the Yamraj,
01:54I praised Dharamsheel and Satyavan Dharamraj.
01:58In the same Yamraj's assembly,
02:00the great scholar and dharmatma saw your father
02:03because his Ekadashi vrat was interrupted.
02:06I will tell you the message he has given.
02:09He has said,
02:11I am staying near Yamraj due to some problem in my previous birth.
02:16So, O son, if you do the Ashwin Krishna Indra Ekadashi vrat on my behalf,
02:21then I can attain heaven.
02:24Then the king said, O Devarshi, tell me the method of this vrat.
02:29Narad said, O King, on the tenth day of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month,
02:35get up early in the morning and take bath in the river in the afternoon.
02:42Then worship your ancestors with reverence and eat once and then rest on the ground.
02:48In the morning, on Ekadashi day, brush your teeth and take a bath.
02:53Then taking the rules of the vrat with devotion,
02:56make a vow that today I will leave all the food and do the Ekadashi vrat without eating.
03:02O Achyut, O Pundarikaksh, I am your refuge.
03:05You protect me.
03:07In this way, in front of the idol of Shaligram,
03:11do the Shraddha in a ritual manner,
03:12feed the eligible Brahmins with fruits and give them alms.
03:17Those who are saved from the Shraddha of the ancestors,
03:19smell it and give it to the cow.
03:21And worship Rishikesh Bhagwan with sunlight, light, fragrance, flowers,
03:23new knowledge, etc.
03:28Wake up near Bhagwan at night.
03:31After this, on the twelfth day,
03:33worship Bhagwan in the morning and feed the Brahmins.
03:38Brothers, sisters, women and sons,
03:41you also eat silently.
03:43Naradji said, O King,
03:46if you do this Ekadashi vrat without being lazy,
03:51your father will definitely go to heaven.
03:54In this way, Naradji meditated.
03:58According to Naradji,
03:59by doing this Ekadashi vrat with his servants,
04:03flowers rained from the sky.
04:06And that king's father climbed Garuda and went to Vishnulok.
04:09King Indrasen also, due to the effect of Ekadashi vrat,
04:13by doing Nishkantak Raj,
04:14in the end, he made his son sit on the throne
04:18and went to heaven.
04:19O Yudhishthir,
04:20I told you the importance of this Indira Ekadashi vrat.
04:24By reading or listening to it,
04:26humans get rid of all sins.
04:28And by enjoying all kinds of pleasures,
04:31they attain Vaikuntha.
04:33In this way, the story of Indira Ekadashi Vrat ended.
04:37Jai Shri Krishna, Radhe Radhe, Jai Lakshmi Narayan.
