00:00Hey guys, you've been asking for so long for a boat tour and we've finally cleaned up the
00:09entire house and it's as clean as it's ever going to look so please join us for this boat
00:13tour.
00:14We're going to show you the interior and also Raz is going to show you what's out here on
00:17deck.
00:18I think we've sort of made this video so that if you're new, you're interested in unique
00:22boats, you want to see what the hell we've been up to for the last three years.
00:26I guess we've kind of aimed it at a different audience.
00:30Yeah, it's a great video to watch if you want to see our home.
00:33We spent three years building this boat and stick around because at the end of the day
00:37we're going to prepare to leave port.
00:39We're going on a big trip tomorrow.
00:42Welcome aboard in the magnificent Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
01:12So this is a saloon, this is where we spend most of our time.
01:22We love this boat because this area felt really open.
01:27We've got where you can sit over here and then this is my galley.
01:32We spent so long finding the right blue for the cupboards.
01:37Hague blue.
01:38Yeah, we've got a lovely Hague blue going on in here.
01:41I find myself spending a lot of time patting the timber trimming here.
01:46And probably what I love most about the galley is all the copper that we've incorporated
01:50into it.
01:51A lot of people are like, oh, it's going to turn green with the soil, air and water.
01:55And we're like, awesome.
01:56It has turned green.
01:57It turned a little bit green already, but we like that.
02:01It makes us feel, um, I don't know.
02:03Is that poisonous?
02:04Closer to the elements and nature.
02:06That's what I want to know.
02:07Is it poisonous?
02:08I hope not.
02:09No.
02:10But yeah, we've got a lot of our decorations from Etsy actually.
02:13Their shipping is super dodgy, but they have really unique things like wallpaper and blankets
02:19and cushion covers.
02:20I love that we have a massive fridge over here.
02:23There's two drawers and also a freezer over there.
02:28Tell us about this wall here.
02:30This is.
02:31Well, this is the feature wall, um, with some of my favorite photos and a whiteboard, which
02:36needs a bit of work, but we won't zoom up too close on this.
02:40I had to cut out a, um, a whiteboard and put it in a photo frame and I'm not, I'm not really
02:45a handy gal, but it'll do for now.
02:48We have an induction stove here.
02:50It's got three burner tops and, um, an oven.
02:56And we also have an electrical cupboard down here for charging things because we really
03:00don't like charges and stuff out.
03:04You guessed it.
03:05This is our kitchen table.
03:08It's got, um, carbon on the outside.
03:10One thing we also wanted with this boat, cause it is made of carbon.
03:13We wanted it to show in some places.
03:15Riley originally wanted the whole boat to be just exposed carbon, but we were kind of
03:20talked out of that because no one wants to be in a completely black boat.
03:23So that's why we painted some areas and, um, did the, uh, whisper walls up the top here.
03:28This goes down into a bed at night and Riley and our youngest kid Darwin sleeps in here.
03:34So the leather is upholstered.
03:36We had it donated to us in the USA and we cut up an entire couch and shipped it all
03:43to Vietnam where we built this boat and they redid it and it's like, I love it so much.
03:49It's my favorite part.
03:50Really good quality.
03:51Yeah.
03:52Same.
03:53It was my non-negotiable from the start.
03:54Yeah.
03:55And again, people were worried about it getting moldy, but no mold so far.
03:58And this is the nav station.
04:01So at nighttime in particular, you spend a lot of time here.
04:05We really wanted a forward facing nav station.
04:07We could have had it over there on the side, but it makes sense to be like, I like your
04:12eyes on the horizon here.
04:14And this also doubles up as a, um, as the seat for the nav station.
04:22Storage.
04:23Uh, oat milk and canned food.
04:25We drink a lot of oat milk.
04:27So one nice little safety feature of this boat is that the engine and the batteries
04:31and all of the stuff that's intense is like in the one area down there and it's airtight.
04:37So if there, if you were to smell something and there was a fire, um, it's locked up and
04:42there's a button down here that you can pull.
04:44Ring pull.
04:45Yeah.
04:46It'll just extinguish the whole thing.
04:49So that's nice to know.
04:51I mean, if you've got the batteries might be, the batteries might melt through the bottom
04:54of the carbon fiber hull, but like, then we're not going to sink because the Amazon just keep
05:00us floating.
05:02Okay.
05:03This boat touch wood, touch the timber trimmings is unsinkable.
05:06Lightly titanic.
05:07Just went for a sauna session and swim in the sea, feeling so good.
05:16I'm about to hop on a video call with my therapist.
05:20Today's sponsor of the show is actually BetterHelp who Riley and I have been using for about
05:25a year now.
05:26We're really happy to keep teaming up with BetterHelp because we feel like it's such
05:29a good tool that so many of you could benefit from like we have.
05:33We live pretty adventurous lives and not all of it is smooth sailing.
05:38So I've personally seen such a huge improvement in my mental health since I started talking
05:43to someone.
05:44I think we all need to talk to someone.
05:46So if something is interfering with your happiness or preventing you from achieving your goals,
05:51you might want to listen up and take advantage of BetterHelp's offer today.
05:54I'm going to tell you all about the offer in a sec, but first just a little bit about
05:57BetterHelp.
05:59BetterHelp connects you with a licensed therapist after you fill out a really simple questionnaire
06:03just listing your specific needs and preferences.
06:06It takes no time at all and in most cases you'll have a therapist matched to you within
06:1148 hours.
06:12So BetterHelp has over 30,000 therapists.
06:15So if you find that you're not vibing with your therapist to begin with, you can switch
06:18completely free of charge and you could keep doing that, which you probably won't have
06:22to until you find the person that's perfect for you.
06:26Working online too, there is way more scheduling flexibility, which was a huge selling point
06:31for us.
06:32You can have your therapy sessions as a phone call, you can use as video chat, and even
06:36via messaging, whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.
06:40We love that BetterHelp is cheaper than in-office therapy without losing the professionalism
06:45or the quality.
06:46It's just much less daunting.
06:47Some people really find that face-to-face interaction of in-office therapy really uncomfortable.
06:52So if that sounds like you and you've been meaning to do something great for yourself,
06:56you can head to betterhelp.com forward slash sailing.
06:58I'm going to pop that link in the description box below and you'll receive a 10% off your
07:02first month of therapy.
07:04That's betterhelp.com forward slash sailing for 10% off your first month of therapy with
07:08a professional.
07:09Thanks so much guys.
07:19Confession time, DIY and I are not the best of friends, yet here I was tasked with sprucing
07:25up our boat with Riley bravely handling the daunting bits like using the Stanley knife.
07:30Even our little adventurer Lenny at just five years old lent a hand at some point.
07:35After our 600 nautical mile journey here with hardly more than a tea towel on board, arriving
07:40at this well-equipped port in Kota Kinabalu was a dream.
07:43We found everything we needed.
07:44What do you think about that?
07:45You reckon it'll stay on?
07:46No.
07:47Well, no, I think it'll stay on.
07:48I don't know if it's in the right spot.
07:49Yeah, that's perfect.
07:50Oh yeah, baby.
07:51Can you just come and hold this?
07:52I can look at myself naked.
08:07The water maker, we don't want to run in the marina.
08:12So, we've got a hose that we're running.
08:17And that is how we shower.
08:22Follow me down to the main master cabin.
08:27I come in here a lot throughout the day.
08:30I'm constantly coming in and out.
08:31And I stop and stare every single time
08:34because it feels so cozy in here.
08:37Even when I hop into bed at night,
08:39I'm like, this is amazing.
08:41Would you say it's huagy?
08:42It's huagy.
08:44Very hygge.
08:50So, my wardrobe's over here.
08:51Riley's is over there.
08:53Another great thing about this boat
08:54is there's lots of storage.
08:56We don't even have enough stuff to fill up all the places,
08:59which is good.
08:59We wanna keep the boat really light.
09:01So, I mean, there's a little seat down here
09:03with more leather,
09:04which we'll probably never use.
09:06Like, we're sincere.
09:08Oh, we're-
09:09I can't, this is the first time
09:10I've sat on this thing.
09:11But it looks nice.
09:12I've got some baskets for storage here.
09:16And then down here is, yeah,
09:18some nice big areas for storage.
09:20And at the moment, we've got medical equipment
09:22and electronic stuff that we don't want
09:25outside in the elements.
09:27Oh, and this is the one very large area
09:30of exposed carbon that we had.
09:32Even though the company of this boat, Rapido,
09:34were like, no, we cannot have this.
09:36Like, it doesn't look good.
09:37We're like, it looks sick.
09:38Just try stuff.
09:39But yeah, that's what our hull is made out of.
09:46There you go, mate.
09:48And this is our bathroom.
09:49So when we have guests on board,
09:52yeah, everyone can kind of use this bathroom
09:54anytime they like.
09:55I'm super proud of it.
09:56We've got the two tones with the wallpaper here.
09:58We've got more copper as well.
10:01We've got a copper shower head here,
10:03which is glorious.
10:05And this really cool mirror.
10:08Mirrors everywhere.
10:12Buongiorno.
10:14I'm glad the boys cannot reach this mirror
10:17because they'd be breaking it in no time.
10:19We wanted like a 70s kind of vibe.
10:24Isn't it?
10:25Is it 70s?
10:26Yeah, it was inspired from like a 70s bathroom.
10:34No one from our channel's even seen down here,
10:36I don't think.
10:38It's been kind of neglected since we moved aboard
10:40just because Rowley and I aren't living in here.
10:42But since Forrest has come to crew on board,
10:45it's come to life.
10:47This is the guest head,
10:48and we went for just like a simple white tile look
10:51with the wallpaper in here.
10:53And I really like it.
10:54There's nothing else to say about in here.
10:57So both the cabins in this boat are queen size bed.
11:01And they feel really big when you're on them.
11:05We've got these really lightweight lights.
11:08They look like copper, but they're not.
11:09And there's another big bit of storage down here,
11:13which I really love.
11:14We're keeping backpacks and some winter gear,
11:16which we're not gonna need for a while.
11:18There's a light in here.
11:20Ooh, I'm glad I spotted that.
11:21That shouldn't be on.
11:22An unsupervised light.
11:26So we have two engines on board.
11:27One is diesel and one is electric.
11:29We don't actually.
11:30At the moment, we've only got one.
11:31So yeah, our diesel engine is broken.
11:33So it has been lifted out of our boat.
11:35So we do only just have the electric propulsion system,
11:39which has been amazing.
11:41But here she is, in all her glory.
11:47A quick update on our diesel engine saga.
11:50During our South China Sea adventure,
11:52it was compromised by saltwater intrusion.
11:55This oversight, despite Yanmar's green light
11:57on the installation, means we're due
11:59for a replacement on warranty.
12:01The waiting time on this new engine, though,
12:03is a bit of a downer.
12:05But we're trying to not let it dampen our spirits.
12:07We're still gearing up for a big sailing mission,
12:09using just our electric propulsion system whilst we wait.
12:14We had what could only be called a catastrophic failure
12:16with the diesel engine the other day.
12:18So the Ocean Vault saved us, which is really good.
12:20Actually, we went on a little sail
12:22and used it for probably five hours,
12:24on and off, just a little touch.
12:27And we used 7% of our battery.
12:30And we don't have a massive battery bank
12:32because we do have the diesel.
12:33So that was great to see.
12:35And then, when we're sailing across the South China Sea,
12:37we did want to build the battery bank up a lot.
12:40And at one point, we were sailing at 12 knots.
12:43We were putting in two and a half to three kilowatts.
12:48So two to three kilowatts at 12 knots,
12:50which was very awesome.
12:55Just having a break.
12:56I had to stop for breakfast.
12:57Haven't even eaten breakfast yet.
13:01One more thing about the induction stove
13:03is that it heats so quickly.
13:06And Forrest just mentioned before
13:07how it kind of sounds like a spaceship taking off or something.
13:10What was it?
13:11What is it?
13:12It just goes, it's like Tron, it's like, zoom.
13:14It's like that.
13:15It sounds electric.
13:17Let's have a go.
13:22Anyone want a coffee or tea?
13:24I would, yeah, I'd have a coffee.
13:34Off she goes.
13:35So that uses a lot of power.
13:37I'm just.
13:39Come.
13:42Boy, there's probably so many people
13:44living in houses at home with induction stoves.
13:46Like, this ain't special, but it's special to us, okay?
13:48No, and that's exactly what I was about to say.
13:50There's gonna be so many people so underwhelmed,
13:53but this is crazy for us.
13:55We should probably move on.
13:56This ain't special.
13:59We'll move on after we have our coffee.
14:01Someone had to climb that peak in my head.
14:03It was so much cooler.
14:06We are on the bowsprit with our Fafnir furler.
14:10So this goes from way here
14:16all the way up the mast there.
14:19And this is for the gennaker,
14:20which is like a huge downwind sail.
14:23This bowsprit, we got engineered for our boat
14:27and we've just received the bill
14:30for the design for that, which was.
14:33Awesome.
14:34Surprising and a little unwelcome, but that's okay.
14:36So this just means you can get more sail
14:40out the front of the boat.
14:41So it's a really good setup.
14:43It's also, it solved a bit of a problem
14:45with where to launch and retrieve the anchor from.
14:48You can see the anchor hangs on the side here.
14:51This, I've said before, is all custom carbon fiber stuff
14:56from Rapido.
14:56We're so lucky that they're so good at that.
15:00So we've got the gennaker and then the code zero,
15:06which are both launched up the front here.
15:08I love these.
15:10These are on a lot of different boats now.
15:12They're very cool.
15:14Over here, that's our dinghy.
15:15We're going to go for a ride.
15:23Full carbon OC tender.
15:26We can actually sail it,
15:27but we left the mast at the Rapido factory.
15:31So when they come over to help us with the engine,
15:33we'll be able to start sailing it again.
15:35But these are, they're the best.
15:41They're really light.
15:41Yeah, which is why we got it.
15:43How many horsepower outboard?
15:4515.
15:56I'm actually, I'm just tracking a trip on Sea People,
15:59which is the app we've been building.
16:00So that was on our jobs list today,
16:02was to do another test trial.
16:04So we're taking the dinghy out.
16:05I've clicked record trip and my mom's probably following.
16:10She loves to follow live.
16:12But yeah, we're so close to launching the new app.
16:14A lot of you have been asking about it.
16:16We're getting so close.
16:16And if you head over to the Instagram page right now,
16:19you can find the link to the Instagram page
16:21and you can follow us on Instagram.
16:23And if you head over to the Instagram page right now,
16:25you can follow the link through.
16:27Give us a follow.
16:28Follow the links through and jump on the waiting list
16:30to be one of the first to download.
16:32It's pretty exciting.
16:33We've been working so hard at this.
16:35To be able to go with new, you know,
16:37so we have to figure out a way of like.
16:39We wanna know who's on the other sailboats.
16:42And so there's a map.
16:44Till now, I am open to discussions.
16:49And it's so good.
16:50Some of the features is gonna blow your mind.
16:53I'm already addicted to it, which is a good sign.
16:55But I mean, just finding your sea people, right?
16:58Whether you're actually shore side
16:59and you wanna find a way to get out here
17:00or you wanna help a fellow sailor
17:02by offering up a dock or a trip to the supermarket.
17:05Or you're a surfer or a diver.
17:07Like it's just a way to connect all seafarers,
17:10people living on and around the ocean.
17:12Yeah, I'm not gonna give too much away right now.
17:15Sign up.
17:16I'll pop the link in the description box below.
17:17And you'll be able to see a preview
17:19of our latest training trip on the Sea People Instagram page.
17:24Plus insights into our upcoming Japan expedition.
17:26Go and check it out.
17:31Before Riley takes over again
17:32for the rest of his on-deck tour,
17:34let's rewind to yesterday's magical dinghy ride
17:37to a secluded island.
17:38Lenny, can you film?
17:42It's a mist that's here.
17:43It is.
17:44Can you keep filming this mate?
17:45You're doing a great job.
17:47Daddy, I cannot even see.
17:49Keep filming Lenny,
17:50your mum and dad might have a good spill in a minute.
17:52Serious.
17:52I'm very tired.
17:55Okay, you can stop filming now baby.
17:58Good man.
17:59Pour the bung in?
18:00Yep.
18:02Here we go.
18:05Easy.
18:06It's always easy.
18:07I can't.
18:11Five nautical miles to go.
18:13I'm gonna be a sailor.
18:13I'm gonna be a sailor.
18:14I'm gonna be a sailor.
18:15I'm gonna be a sailor.
18:16I'm gonna be a sailor.
18:17I'm gonna be a sailor.
18:18I'm gonna be a sailor.
18:19Five nautical miles from the marina is this island
18:22where no one is for some reason
18:24and it has the widest sand.
18:27Mummy, I think there's lava in there.
18:29Is there lava?
18:30How was your first burn on the new tender boys?
18:34Was that good?
18:35Yeah.
18:36Good, what?
18:37It was the best.
18:38Our kids' excitement was palpable
18:40as we set off for Saluk,
18:42the most remote of the five nearby islands,
18:44a serene haven that we already couldn't wait to anchor by
18:48on the mothership.
18:57How was that trip back?
18:58Pretty hectic.
19:01Pretty sloppy.
19:09Alrighty, what we got here?
19:11So, this is the solent.
19:12These are all carbon technora with the stratus membrane.
19:16So, it's the Doyle stratus,
19:17which is their higher up part of their brand.
19:22It's actually separate from Doyle,
19:23but they're all, this is the good gear.
19:26This is the good.
19:27This is the stay sail.
19:31That is missing.
19:32That is missing.
19:34It's currently being repaired.
19:35So, one of the problems here,
19:38which I've just seen,
19:40design wind range based on design model,
19:43full 18 to 30 knots.
19:46So, there's your problem.
19:48From 33 to 135.
19:49For those who missed the episode.
19:51We blew it up.
19:52We'll link the episode here.
19:53It was a banger episode, actually.
19:55Probably one of our best.
19:58So, this is the bow thruster electrics
20:01and also the windlass.
20:03And there's the remote to operate the anchor.
20:07You can pull it outside.
20:08How many meters of chain do we have?
20:10I think it's 60.
20:12Okay.
20:13The mainsail is not correctly flaked, okay?
20:15So, before you all have a go at me about that.
20:18We flaked it quite long
20:20and have the lazy jacks very loose
20:23to stop the point loading.
20:24That's why it's so ugly.
20:25It's okay.
20:26Don't worry about it.
20:27Just follow me.
20:28What was happening was,
20:30because we don't have the sail bag,
20:31this was like rubbing hard on it.
20:33It's in China still, the sail bag.
20:35Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:37The important thing to know about our mainsail
20:39is it's, is it more than twice as big?
20:42It's at least twice as big as our old one.
20:44It is 122.5 square meters.
20:48That's a lot of mainsail.
20:49Daggerboard.
20:51On this boat, we have it down pretty much at all times.
20:54I think if was really hitting the fan,
20:57we were getting six meter breaking waves
21:01on a beam or something like that.
21:03We might pull it up, which would help us slide sideways.
21:06But that's just,
21:08there's kind of sea state that would warrant
21:10that we're going to definitely try to not be in.
21:12So effectively, it'll be down at all times.
21:15And it goes down to,
21:17let me just pull up a schematic here.
21:19It's saying 3.548 meters.
21:23Elena has asked that I remove these socks.
21:27Aww.
21:28These here, I think that I've mentioned them
21:30every episode since we got the boat.
21:31These are so sick.
21:33And actually, Rapido have done such a fantastic job.
21:36Just with the gust straps, like,
21:39it's just really nice how they,
21:42it just pops open.
21:43And each drawer and cupboard does the same thing.
21:46They just, it's just a really,
21:48really nice-
21:49It's like magic, hey?
21:50Yeah, it's really beautiful.
21:51And it allows a lot of air to circulate through the boat,
21:54which is just, it's like having air conditioning.
22:00So this is the carbon fiber rotating mast.
22:03It's pretty busy down this end.
22:06We've got two winches here.
22:07I'm still learning how it all goes.
22:09We've got a Cunningham, which I re-roamed,
22:12but now it pulls the sail to one side.
22:15And how high is the mast?
22:17The mast?
22:28I don't know.
22:30But,
22:33it does have shiny paint.
22:35There's reefing lines and everything,
22:37so to take a reef, the same as the Ultramarine,
22:40you gotta come down, come up to the base of the mast
22:42and operate some stuff.
22:43That's all, it's actually how I prefer it.
22:46It's better on these boats if you can run down here
22:49and do some stuff.
22:50It's also, it's super wide and it feels very,
22:52it doesn't feel dangerous leaving the cockpit.
22:54Yeah, it's a long way to fall off.
22:56People said, hey, is it okay if you come here?
22:58Because everything just ends up being better.
23:00And I was like, absolutely, that's how I prefer it.
23:03And so we all agreed.
23:04That's the mast.
23:06All right, what have we got here?
23:08This is the helm.
23:09Okay.
23:10It's rather exposed, isn't it?
23:12It is a little exposed.
23:14So I specifically asked for an exposed helm,
23:18well, not an exposed helm, but I was like,
23:19just get rid of all this stuff out here, I don't need it.
23:22Yeah, the big cover we weren't a fan of.
23:25It just seemed a bit clunky.
23:27Yeah, so aesthetically, but also weight-wise,
23:31minimalism, there was a bunch of reasons for it.
23:34But what I like to do is set the boat up
23:36so that it's 70% of where I would need to take a reef
23:41or something like that.
23:43And then everyone on board can relax.
23:46And that's how I've always done my sailing,
23:49for safety first and foremost,
23:52but also just to have the boat comfortable.
23:55And also like, if I can be reading whilst I'm sailing,
23:58I'm now doing two things and that's better than one.
24:01There are some other things.
24:02There are some other things.
24:03So I like to be, when I'm down there,
24:06if this is, you can look from there and see the ocean,
24:10which is just really beautiful.
24:11Yeah, the view when we're sailing,
24:13of the waves behind here.
24:15Oh, and there are lifelines that attach back here.
24:18And we clip in too, when we're sailing,
24:20you can put your harness in there.
24:21Yeah, exactly.
24:22If it is rough, you can clip in there.
24:25And there's one, the same on the other side,
24:26and there's one down here as well,
24:28which is way better being clipped in
24:32than having a big thing, like all around here.
24:35Cause you can still go through that or over it.
24:37But if you're clipped in, you're done, right?
24:42Okay, what are we looking at here?
24:44So we got sun powered yachts that help us out
24:46with these 470 watt solar panels.
24:50For those of you who are new,
24:51you wouldn't have said we have in here.
24:56I love this setup.
24:58Again, with the gas struts.
25:04More solar panels.
25:08Yeah, so there's three 170 watt
25:13flexible solar panels in there.
25:16Pretty simple.
25:19Pull them out.
25:20And you have doubled, more than doubled, your solar input.
25:27So it's pretty amazing.
25:31And it's the same on both sides.
25:36This is where the engine should be.
25:41Everyone that's been following along
25:42knows that we had a few dramas with that.
25:44So we believe that we're gonna be able to
25:47Everyone that's been following along
25:47knows that we had a few dramas with that.
25:49So we believe that the problem was
25:52the loop in the exhaust wasn't high enough,
25:54which meant that when waves were crashing against the side,
25:57it was coming in and forcing salt water
26:01back all the way through the engine.
26:03I've never seen so many sailors or mechanics
26:07cringe so hard seeing the footage
26:09of the salt water corrosion in the engine.
26:12If there was a fire, this is likely where it might happen.
26:16And so they've set up a system
26:18where there's fire extinguishers down here,
26:20which can be operated remotely.
26:22Paul's philosophy is that because this boat
26:26is the way that it is, it's got three separate hulls
26:29that can all float, so it's just very, very unlikely to sink.
26:33The major problem would be, like any vessel, would be fire.
26:37And so they can put in some extra measures
26:40to stop a fire in here,
26:42which makes the boat then safer again.
26:44There's six MG lithium ion batteries.
26:48They are 7.2 kilowatts each,
26:51which is a total of 43.2 kilowatts.
26:56But we have a hybrid system,
26:57so we've got the Yanmar and the battery bank,
27:03so we've sort of split the difference,
27:05which makes the boat a little bit heavier than I'd like,
27:07but we really wanted to see what this technology could do.
27:11And so far, it has been absolutely amazing.
27:15Now, it's time to turn our attention
27:17to an essential piece of our daily life at sea,
27:19the device that quenches our thirst every single day.
27:22So we have the Newport 700C Spectral Watermaker,
27:26which is really easy.
27:30I think with a good install, these are just amazing.
27:33So come and I'll show you how easy it is.
27:36Yeah.
27:45That's it.
27:47Riley, you might find this funny,
27:48but today, Mellie, who's our nanny,
27:50if you're new here, you wouldn't have met Mellie yet,
27:52but she's just come to help out with the kids
27:54so we can get some work done.
27:56We fixed the boat and everything last week,
27:57so that was a mission.
27:58But anyway, Mellie said today,
28:00where do you get the water from?
28:02And I was like, we make it with the watermaker.
28:04She's like, from the ocean.
28:05And I was like, yeah.
28:06Goes through a high-pressure membrane
28:08and it separates the salt water,
28:09puts that back in the water,
28:10and then we just keep the fresh.
28:12And she was spun out.
28:14I just thought it was from the taps here.
28:16I'm like, nah.
28:18So people freak out,
28:19but it's actually really, really hygienic.
28:22Super clean.
28:22And people also say, oh, it's been stripped of minerals.
28:25You can get a mineral filter that adds them back in,
28:27but you get minerals from fruit and vegetables.
28:30An A.G. one.
28:31And athletic cream.
28:34So we've got a pretty good B&G setup.
28:39Like, a very, very good one.
28:41The thing that I like the most is the autopilot.
28:44So in particular, when we had 44 knots of wind,
28:49I've probably spoken about this a lot,
28:50because it was a very early,
28:54very big moment for me on this boat.
28:56We had 44 knots of wind,
28:58two reefs in the main,
29:00and I had just come on shift
29:02and wind was coming in sideways.
29:05I pulled my wet weather gear thing
29:08so that I looked like Kenny from South Park,
29:10and just buckled in for a two hour shift of hell.
29:14And was just able to put the headsail away
29:17and go put it to wind vane mode,
29:20performance level five,
29:21and just bomb almost directly downwind.
29:25With the ammo wings spread wide,
29:27we were just surfing down waves
29:29and it just felt unbelievably comfortable.
29:31And after five minutes of over 40 knot winds,
29:36I just felt very safe and very comfortable.
29:39I just let the autopilot do its thing.
29:41I was there paying attention,
29:42but instead of being like right on edge,
29:47I was just like, cool, this thing has got this.
29:50And then after a bit, I was like,
29:52I'm gonna have a cup of tea.
29:53I didn't do that, but I could have.
29:56Eperb is randomly floating around the place.
29:58We haven't found a spot for it yet.
30:04Riley just ducked off to the gym.
30:06Lenny's doing a lesson, an online lesson.
30:09Forrest is doing the dishes.
30:14And there's just been some delays
30:15with this departure actually,
30:16to check out of the country.
30:18We need the crew who we sailed here with,
30:20we need their plane tickets out,
30:22the evidence of them leaving,
30:23and we don't have that.
30:24So we might be held up by an extra day here.
30:30Join us next week for an exclusive hour long episode
30:33where we'll share more of this spectacular coastline
30:35with you guys.
30:37We were just doing above wind speed.
30:38That's nice, man.
30:40Don't forget to subscribe
30:41so you don't miss out on the next video.
30:42Until then, fair winds and following seas.
