00:00Sellers in a fish market in Malabon are now complaining.

00:04It's said that there's no more rain, but until now, there's still 20 percent of rain

00:08which is a permission to sell fish.

00:20to have several weeks of rain in a part of the market in the city of Malabon.

00:27It's not just the residents, but also the sellers

00:31who are affected by this in their businesses.

00:34I'm now in a part of the market here in Malabon

00:38where there's almost 20 percent of rain.

00:41But in this part, we can see the pile of garbage

00:46that according to the sellers here,

00:48hasn't been collected for several weeks.

00:50But surprisingly, this is right in front of the municipality of Malabon.

00:56Jomar is a seller of shellfish as a family business.

00:59Aside from the sale of shellfish,

01:01he's also complaining about the smell of sewage and garbage.

01:06A lot of cars are passing by,

01:08and we're being swept away by the waves.

01:10And there's also garbage there.

01:12All of the garbage is floating in the water.

01:16When the rain gets stronger,

01:18the sewage water reaches up to our thighs.

01:21But the worst part is,

01:23even if there's no rain,

01:25there's no place for the sewage water.

01:27So instead of paying back for the sewage water,

01:30the sellers are only concerned about the garbage.

01:34Because there are a lot of people who will buy from them.

01:37They're afraid of being swept away by the sewage water.

01:39We have to pay P100 per day.

01:43What's that P100 for?

01:46I don't know.

01:47Whenever we protest,

01:49there's always someone asking for P100.

01:52The family business is far from Malabon City Hall.

01:55That's why the sellers are appealing to the local government.

02:00Until now, we're trying to get hold of the local government of Malabon.

02:05But they're not responding to our calls.
