00:39and charged with racketeering, trafficking by force, fraud or coercion,

00:51criminal enterprise, directing its members to commit several abhorrent criminal acts
00:55that included forced labor, kidnapping, arson and bribery.
00:59Within the 14 pages, it describes, you know, mob-like behavior.
01:05These cases are generally brought against mobs.
01:08So they are describing a criminal enterprise.
01:11Diddy has denied all allegations, while his legal team vowed to contest the charges.
01:16Combs' defense lawyer Mark Agnifilo even said his client is nothing like disgraced singer R. Kelly
01:22or accused trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, stating, quote, this is different.
01:27His attorney saying he doesn't believe Combs will take a plea deal.
01:30I do not see it happening.
01:32He he he's he's innocent and he is going to go to trial and I believe he's going to win.
01:37Following his arrest, the Manhattan judge overseeing
01:39the case ordered Combs to be held without bail.
01:42This as prosecutors successfully argued that he was at a high risk of fleeing the country.
01:47Look, he has limitless funds.
01:48He can hop on his plane.
01:49He can go anywhere in the world.
01:51The defense says, look, he gave up his passport.
01:53He came to New York willingly.
01:54If found guilty, Diddy faces life in prison.
01:58Freak-offs.
01:59They also uncovered videos of elaborately produced sex performances
02:03with multiple victims that Combs allegedly referred to as freak-offs.
02:07At the center of the charges levied against Sean Diddy Combs are so-called freak-off
02:11performance parties.
02:13Combs is accused of coercing several women into participating in orchestrated
02:17erotic activities that he refers to as freak-offs.
02:21Prosecutors describe these X-rated events as,
02:23quote,
02:24elaborate and produced performances featuring adult workers,
02:27which Combs allegedly organized, directed, and recorded for his own gratification.
02:32While he watches or participates or whatever.
02:35It further claims that some of the victims were unaware they were being filmed,
02:38only to have the videos used as blackmail.
02:41He used the embarrassing and sensitive recordings
02:44he made of the freak-offs as collateral against the victims.
02:48According to the indictment,
02:50Diddy and his associates would lure individuals by pretending to seek romantic relationships,
02:54only to later use,
02:56quote,
02:56force and threats to procure their involvement.
02:59It's also alleged that he used illegal substances and money to further control victims.
03:04Prosecutors claim that these sessions could last for several days
03:08and that IV fluids were sometimes administered afterward
03:11to help Combs and the others recover from the physical strain.
03:14In one 2012 incident at a Manhattan hotel,
03:18Diddy allegedly paid over $46,000 to cover damages
03:22caused during one of these purported freak-offs.
03:24HISTORY OF VIOLENCE
03:26According to Damian Williams,
03:28the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York,
03:31Sean Combs became violent when women refused to participate
03:34in the freak-offs or other orchestrated events.
03:37Williams claims Combs would get physical with these women,
03:40even grabbing at their hair to create agony.
03:43Combs hit, kicked, threw objects at and dragged victims at times by their hair.
03:48It's claimed that the injuries sustained were so bad
03:51that they often took days or weeks to heal.
03:54Prosecutors stated that Combs' appalling treatment of women
03:57extends far beyond the current charges,
03:59with five women publicly accusing him of violent acts dating back to the 90s.
04:03We're going to begin tonight with the alarming images now emerging of Sean Diddy Combs.
04:07The new video obtained exclusively by CNN.
04:10Williams also recounted to the court that the rapper once bribed a hotel worker with a,
04:15quote,
04:15stack of cash after being caught on camera assaulting a woman.
04:19Much of the alleged incidents are said to have occurred in private settings,
04:22such as Combs' personal residences.
04:25This was part of the prosecutor's argument that strict measures like home incarceration
04:29would not prevent this type of behavior from Diddy.
04:32The judge agreed, denying his bail.
04:34This arrest seems long overdue.
04:36It's a big, moving day for victims, but an arrest is only the beginning.
04:40Items found by officials.
04:42In March 2024, authorities conducted raids on Sean Diddy Combs' properties,
04:48including those in Los Angeles and Miami.
04:50They're looking for videos, photos, any mementos that he may have been keeping
04:57that would corroborate what accusers have said.
05:01The Department of Homeland Security stated at the time that these actions
05:04were part of an ongoing investigation spanning several cities.
05:08One of the properties searched was Combs' 17,000 square foot Beverly Hills mansion,
05:13where he had announced his latest album release just months prior.
05:16Love records.
05:18We're here.
05:19We're stronger together.
05:21Yeah.
05:22We now know that during the raids,
05:25investigators found video footage of the so-called freak-offs on mobile phones.
05:29Curiously, over 1,000 bottles of lubricant were also discovered.
05:34Additionally, stashes of firearms and ammunition
05:37with defaced serial numbers were said to have been recovered from the homes.
05:40They seized firearms and ammunition, including three defaced AR-15s
05:46and a large-capacity drum magazine.
05:48Arson incident.
05:49Forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and the obstruction of justice.
05:55Prosecutors claim that Combs once bragged about using a Molotov cocktail
05:59to torch a victim's car.
06:01As part of a detention memo accompanying the charges against Diddy,
06:04it was revealed that the hip-hop businessman and his associates
06:07allegedly committed arson as an act of retaliation by setting fire to a convertible.
06:12This reportedly occurred just weeks after a brazen kidnapping in December 2011.
06:17Diddy and his group had allegedly taken a victim with them
06:20as they tried to break into another individual's home.
06:23Two weeks later, they set their convertible on fire
06:26by cutting open the roof and throwing a Molotov cocktail inside.
06:30It's said that at the time,
06:31police and fire officials confirmed the fire was intentionally set.
06:36In therapy.
06:37Diddy's lawyer is speaking out amid the mogul's arrest.
06:41Amid facing a slew of serious crimes,
06:44Sean Diddy Combs' attorney revealed that the rapper and music exec is currently in therapy.
06:49Combs' attorney, Mark Agnifilo, made the revelation during the mogul's arraignment hearing.
06:54He stated that Diddy is undergoing, quote,
06:56treatment and therapy for things that most respectfully he needs treatment and therapy for,
07:01and he's getting that.
07:02It was not specified what exactly Diddy is getting help for, however.
07:06Agnifilo also added that his client has faced many struggles in his life,
07:10including substance use disorder and toxic relationships,
07:13which he noted were mutually harmful.
07:15Combs acknowledged his assault of Cassie in a message
07:18posted on Instagram days after the video surfaced.
07:27He also emphasized that seeking help at 54 years of age is commendable and should be applauded.

07:49Accomplices
07:50The district attorney has made it clear that Combs was not alone in these criminal acts.
07:55The federal government is saying that this is a criminal enterprise,
07:58that this isn't just a crime perpetuated by one individual,
08:01but that a whole organization needed to work around this,
08:04not only in creating these freak-offs and these parties and these filming,
08:08but also to hide it.
08:10It's purported that the music magnate used his business
08:12and vast array of employees to, quote, get his way.
08:16Those individuals are said to include various staff,
08:19like security guards and even household aides.
08:22High-ranking supervisors and personal assistants
08:24are also alleged to have helped facilitate the shocking crimes.
08:27He did not act alone.
08:28So there were enablers from his employees, his co-workers,
08:32his assistants to other people in law enforcement
08:35that have aided and abetted him in carrying out these crimes.
08:39This was apparently done through directions regarding financial payments to victims,
08:43promises to advance and or suppress their career opportunities,
08:47and acquiring controlled substances.
08:49Many were said to witness the alleged violence,
08:52but did nothing to intervene,
08:54rather concealing the acts and assisting Diddy in covering them up.
08:58The indictment also says Combs' associates would locate
09:01and contact victims who attempted to flee his abuse,
09:04all on his behalf.

09:13And I think that one of the strongest parts of this case
09:15is going to be that there isn't just one witness.
09:18This isn't just about Cassie.
09:20There are going to be multiple witnesses who are going to be testifying.
09:23The defense is trying to portray this as,
09:24oh, there's going to be one witness.
09:25No, no, no.
09:26There are going to be a lot of witnesses who are going to come forward.
