00:00But the nation loves it when you get political, by the way.
00:04Yeah, well, it causes me a lot of anger.
00:05I don't want Pepsi in that, so I'd be fucking out again.
00:08Sick of it.
00:09Hello, universe.
00:10I'm Ryan Sampson.
00:12And I'm Danny Dyer.
00:13And with the help of these cards,
00:15we're going to break down some of the big, important themes
00:18in our new show, which is called...
00:20Mr Big Stuff.
00:21Oh, yeah, it is.
00:22Shall we get amongst it?
00:25Mr Big Stuff is the first card.
00:26Simple.
00:27Look at the card.
00:28Elegant.
00:29Why is the show called Mr Big Stuff?
00:32I mean, partly, I don't know if you've noticed,
00:34but I'm quite short, lad.
00:35What, 5'2"?
00:38I am 5'4 and a half.
00:39Great for me, because you make me look like I'm 6'5 on screen,
00:42which is amazing.
00:43Which he is, you know.
00:45And then there's also, you know, Mr Big Stuff,
00:47it's about this idea that people are putting on the front.
00:50A lot of themes are masculine in the show.
00:52Sometimes a lot of that can be about putting on the front.
00:54And I'd say that your character does that to the extreme.
00:56Well, I was going to say, because the next question is,
00:58what do I think the show says about masculinity?
01:00What I think it says is it's OK to be masculine.
01:04When it starts to creep over into the toxic thing,
01:08then I don't know whether that's because they're too masculine
01:12or just because they're a fucking arsehole.
01:14I think it's OK to be a fucking geezer,
01:17be able to build a cupboard,
01:19but at the same time cry at Marley and me.
01:22There's nothing wrong with that.
01:24When was the last time you built a cupboard?
01:26When did you cry during the meeting?
01:28I told you, I built a wardrobe once and I built myself into it.
01:31I had to punch through the back.
01:33It was a fucking nightmare.
01:35But I'm a very sensitive soul.
01:38I think I've got the best of both worlds in a sense.
01:40I can flit in and out of being very feminine and, you know,
01:45wanting cock and then at the same time loving women
01:49and being married to a beautiful woman.
01:51So you work it out.
01:52What do you think it means to be a man in today's world?
01:55That's a very, very difficult question, actually.
01:58You know, the idea of boys having this energy that we've got,
02:01you know, especially young boys,
02:03from particularly working-class environments
02:07where you have to be slightly masculine
02:10to fucking survive within that environment.
02:12We don't really interact with each other
02:14and talk about stuff we should talk about.
02:16They open up to each other, either sitting in a car,
02:18not looking at each other, playing pool,
02:20doing stuff where you're not going to sit down,
02:24and fucking talk about shit,
02:25which is what we should fucking start doing.
02:27And it's important that we're all around with each other
02:29so that, you know, God forbid we don't take on the elite.
02:33Why is Glenn shocked by Lee's fragility at times?
02:38Ooh, that's a good one.
02:39Glenn grew up in the shadow of his big brother,
02:42this very masculine guy.
02:43And so he's always assumed that he's continued to be
02:47that very headstrong kind of alpha stereotype.
02:52And then it transpires that when Lee comes back
02:56into Glenn's life, Lee's like pulling Glenn up on things.
02:59Like, Glenn says prostitute, and he goes,
03:02it's sex worker, Glenn, mind your terms.
03:04And it's sort of like he's evolved
03:06and Glenn's not ready for that.
03:08He's like, I thought you were that sort of alpha dickhead
03:11that I used to know.
03:12And he wants to save the planet as well, Lee.
03:14He wants to save the planet.
03:15You know, he's very much into it.
03:16As should we all.
03:17What would you most like our viewers to take away
03:20from Lee and Glenn?
03:21I would like them to take away being a little bit more open
03:26and vulnerable and honest about your problems
03:28because that's what they've both got.
03:29And it's what's causing Glenn's floppy dick,
03:32Lee's floppy anxiety.
03:35Floppy brain, isn't it?
03:36Floppy brain.
03:37I just want people to laugh their bollocks off hard.
03:40Not that it's important, but we're going to win
03:44about eight NTA awards.
03:47We're in the same category as fucking PJ and Duncan.
03:50Yeah.
03:51And they're sitting there all smug going,
03:52we won't win it this year for the 28th year.
03:54And then we nick it.
03:55And we swoop in.
03:56As a duo.
03:57Yeah.
03:58And as we walk past them, we sort of gob at them.
04:00You know.
04:01Joking.
04:02We're joking.
04:03There'll be no gobbing.
04:04To see Lee and Glenn in action,
04:07you've got to watch Mr Big Stuff.
04:10Yeah, do.
04:11On Sky.
04:12Not Sky 1 because it doesn't exist anymore.
04:13I think you might like it.
04:14Drop a bit of graft.
