00:00There's no place like Lake Superior as far as the pristine water, the topography of the

00:15shoreline.

00:16I mean, it's just a beautiful, beautiful place and incredibly precious.

00:20And you know, there's something about Lake Superior that can connect with everybody,

00:23whether they like to swim in the lake or fish in the lake or kayak in the lake.

00:27I think it's really important for everyone who comes to this lake to really understand

00:32how precious it is, how unique it is.

00:34It carries 10 percent of the world's fresh water, and water is becoming the most precious

00:39resource there is.

00:41And Lake Superior is under threat.

00:43It is changing.

00:44It's changing fast.

00:48We're just citizen scientists out there noticing what's happening.

00:52We've been measuring the temperature of Lake Superior for many years, and we have noticed

00:57a very distinct warming of the waters.

01:01And that matches what the Large Lakes Observatory says, which is that ultimately Lake Superior

01:07is one of the fastest-warming big lakes in the world.
