00:00Hi I'm Tom and we're here at Three Pools in Derwin vineyard and we planted this

00:07vineyard in 2022. This is our third season of growing. We planted a mixture

00:14of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Sauvail and Ortega. We're at the Sauvail section now and some of the things that we're doing at this time of year

00:23trying to concentrate the growth into building this main trunk so we're

00:29de-leaving, knocking off some of the additional shoots that we don't need

00:33trying to get this vine to grow as high and vertical as we possibly can this

00:39year to then establish a trunk and hopefully get some fruit next year.

00:44We've also got these rabbit guards they're very important on our particular

00:49site because we've got a lot of rabbits so we put these on to protect them.

00:54Also clearing some of the weeds and grass around the base of the vine to give them a bit more air and less competition and then

01:04also with one that's so strong like this we're just folding it over the trellis

01:08to give it some support in the wind.
